Bottle thanks to 50belair. Pitch black pour, short foamy tan head. Wow this is one sweet mofo. Huge bourbon as expected, SWEET chocolate, and all accented by lots of vanilla bean. Rich and smooth, big flavor. This is an excellent desert beer konstifik (573) - SWEDEN - MAR 16, 2011
Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Deep, heavy aroma of bourbon, burnt rubber, soy, booze and vanilla. Boozy taste with more bourbon and burnt rubber and some slight vanilla. I thought the normal BCS was much, much better. crossovert (13078) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 14, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2013 650ml bottle.
This one pours a dense, dark black with a huge foamy dark-tan head. The head sticks for a bout a minute then quickly recedes with no lacing.
The smell is like your typical BCS with lots of bourbon, some raostiness and also some chocolate, BUT with a nice underlying of vanilla. The oak and vanilla smooth it out very nicely.
The vanilla is immediately identifiable in this beer. Although unlike the BCBCS this one doesn’t cut down on the sweetness, it does smooth out the alcohol. I’m glad that they used 08 vintage BCS as the beer itself is rather harsh when fresh. All in all it is a lot smoother than its big brother.
Goose Island with another great BCS variation here.

Rating a vintage bottle. Didn’t age well, oxidized, frosting-like. Slight downgrade. omhper (25249) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 9, 2011
Bottled. Very black, no head. The aroma is huge on vanilla and milk chocolate. Monumentally full bodied with dense, slick, packed mouthfeel. Bourbon and vanilla unsurprisingly mixes with chocolate and tar in a concentrated blend. Warming peppery finish. Edgeless and focused, not really complex, just intense and with a focus on exactly the flavours that is immediately likable. Ratman197 (14955) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 7, 2011
Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, carmel, oak and dark chocolate. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of vanilla, bourbon, carmel, dark chocolate and oak with a smooth lingering vanilla finish.

Very dark and thick liquid. Great aroma of coffee, vanilla, roasted malt, licorice, dark fruits. Really a lot of vanilla in the taste, also some notes from the barrel. Nicely balanced beer with a thick mouth feel. Very good beer but not as good at the original one.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2012 Bottle. Pour is opaque, small cream colored head that dissapated rather quickly. Barely any lacing at all. Aromas of vanilla bean, bourbon, licorice, black curant, and chocolate coffee. Taste is sticky toffee crunch, milky vanilla bean ice cream, espresso. Tacky mouthfeel that melts away in a warming, restrained, boozy finish. Amazing aged stout with very similiar characteristics to Angels Share which is totally fine in my book. 650 ml bottle courtesy of guyinchicago. Thanks Chuck. Pours an opaque black color with a small brown head that immediately disappears. The aroma is strong with bourbon whiskey and a bit of cocoa. The taste, like the aroma, is dominated by bourbon whiskey, besides whiskey I get anise, mocha, black walnuts, vanilla and burnt toast. The palate is thick and syrupy with soft carbonation. Finishes impossibly long and semi-sweet. Overall: This exceeded my already sky-high expectations. very nice. igniztion (313) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 4, 2011
