Bottle. Very dark and thick liquid. Great aroma of coffee, vanilla, roasted malt, licorice, dark fruits. Really a lot of vanilla in the taste, also some notes from the barrel. Nicely balanced beer with a thick mouth feel. Very good beer but not as good at the original one.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2012 Bottle. Pour is opaque, small cream colored head that dissapated rather quickly. Barely any lacing at all. Aromas of vanilla bean, bourbon, licorice, black curant, and chocolate coffee. Taste is sticky toffee crunch, milky vanilla bean ice cream, espresso. Tacky mouthfeel that melts away in a warming, restrained, boozy finish. Amazing aged stout with very similiar characteristics to Angels Share which is totally fine in my book.

650 ml bottle courtesy of guyinchicago. Thanks Chuck. Pours an opaque black color with a small brown head that immediately disappears. The aroma is strong with bourbon whiskey and a bit of cocoa. The taste, like the aroma, is dominated by bourbon whiskey, besides whiskey I get anise, mocha, black walnuts, vanilla and burnt toast. The palate is thick and syrupy with soft carbonation. Finishes impossibly long and semi-sweet. Overall: This exceeded my already sky-high expectations. very nice.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2015 This beer aims at your soft "vanilla-spots" with a base in the legendary bourbon county . And that is basically what this beer is. A bourbon county stout loaded with vanilla. Ofc I like it? Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, huge vanilla and some roasted malts. Taste add some warming alcohol and a bit of liquorice and dark dried fruits. In short: Bourbon County plus tons of vanilla!

Bottle. Low and quickly disappearingt light brown fluffy head. Pitch black body. Coffee wood vanilla liquorice aroma. Coffee liquorice choccolate vanilla sweet smooth and pleasant but with bitter notes as well. Low carbonation. Long sweet aftertaste Yum yum. I would never have guessed on such a high alcohol content. Very well balance between the sweet and the bitter notes.

This is perverse. An insanely perverse beer and I am ashamed to admit liking it. Its like listening to "Never Gonna Give You Up" on the radio, and you cannot stop yourself from slightly dancing. Its like watching Extreme Home Makeovers and being really touched by the whole scenery. Its like liking Dan Browns books. Its like actually liking a beer more than last years batch. ts like thinking Jean claude Van Damme is cool. Its like a homo-erotic fantasy involving David Beckham. Its like dancing with your mommy thinking "this is fun". Its like really liking George Michael. Its like eating hot dogs at a wedding. Its like hating Orval.

Bomber. Pours as black as my ex-wifes soul with a thin tan head. The nose is dark fruits, burnt malt, bourbon, dark chocolate and vanilla. The taste is vanilla upfront with dark fruits, milk chocolate, roast and coffee. This has a subdued barrel compared to the regular version and much sweeter - the sweetness must cut down the bourbon. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Very good but not sure I like it more than the original. Ill have to try Rare next to see how it compares.
