75 cL bottle thanks to henrikb. Pours dark brown/amber with a light off-white head. Malty aroma with a hoppy whiff. Somewhat chemical alcohol aroma, bourbon I guess I should call it. UPDATED: SEP 10, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of henrikb. Pours a slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Distinct bourbon aroma. Medium body with a soft mouthfeel, lightly sweet caramel and again these distinct and wonderful bourbon notes. Dry finish with a subdued bitterness. Excellent. 070907 Oakes (18521) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 6, 2011
2009 bottle. Cloudy brown with not much head. The aroma is rich, malty, oxidized with hints of sherry and some light nuts. Sweet, brown sugary with stickiness and not much more than light toastiness. Maybe some tart barrelly notes and light alcohol in this. Ok, but it is not knocking me out.

2006 bottle. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose/taste of bourbon/whisky, oak, toffee, caramel, mixed nuts and hints of vanilla. Medium body. Bourbon/whiskey alcohol in finish. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 8, 2010
A: The pour is a darkish amber color with a moderate off-white head.
S: There is a nice bourbon and booze note to the beer, but it’s not overwhelming at all. A nice vanilla and almost honey like aroma on top of a bit of malt.
T: A bit of oxidation on this one--mild stale brown sugar taste. Certainly some bourbon and vanilla, along with a nice malty sweetness throughout.
M: Medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation.
D: A very nice beer. The bourbon and barrel contributions are there but not overwhelming nor too subtle. Nicely done all around. Ratman197 (15212) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 20, 2010
