65cl bottle @ Vinens Verden, Odense. Comes as Goose Island Christmas Ale 2009. 7%. Pours dark amber reddish with a small creamy head and lacings. Aroma us vaguely roasted with notes of roast, dough, pudding, caramel and fresh hops. Quite vinous and matured malty. Inviting. Taste is bread, nuts, caramel, a bit of butter and hops. Smooth palate. Fine

2009 bottle, 7%. Vinous aroma at first, later just nicely malty. Clear chestnut colour. OK tan head. The flavour has a lot of caramel malt, a hint of spice. Tastes stronger than 7% to me. Well-balanced, though.

My bottle is like BOBANDDOUGs. Bottled 10/08/07. Ill put one away. Aroma of rather darkly roasted malt. Some hop as the glass approaches the lips. Reddish tinged amber color with a beige head that is quite refined (bottle conditioned!). Medium bodied with refined carbonation. The flavor is roasted malt with some subtle floral hop and some resin. The finish is fairly dry, with some harsh roast notes, and some floral hop bitter lightly building. A dark winter brew, but not overly Xmased. Could be a year round dark ale.
