The aroma is malts, roasty some bread, slight banana/bubblegum. Pours a cloudy golden orange, with mostly diminishing off white head, slight lacing. The taste is bitter, maybe some umami. The body is medium, the texture is creamy, the carbonation lively a little fizzy. The finish bitter.

Was at the Goose Island Brewery. This beer has a nice finish and was a darker amber beer. Thought it had good balance.

02/26/2010 batch. Aged in probably less then stellar conditions, recently snagged off of a beer stores shelf. Pours a clear golden amber with little edging. Nose is cardboard, metal, apricots, wheat, and bubble gum. Taste is similar, fading stone fruits and yeast esters with some oxidized cardboard and faded bitterness. It’s well over the hill, and far from great, but it remains drinkable at five years old.

January 17, 2015. Bottle at Monk’s American Bar. Bottle march 23, 2009.
Hazy golden with a medium sized white head. Aroma is sweet dried apricots, gooseberries, orange, light spices. Taste is sweet dried fruits, mainly apricots but also faint raisin notes, very light bitter notes. Medium bodied, soft to average carbonation.

65cl bottle. Hazy golden, thick white head. Orange marmelade, zesty aroma. Covers pretty much everything else. Flavor has oranges juice, marmalade, malt and spicy notes. Don’t think I have had such a juicy beer before. One dimensional.

"From notes: nice grassy hop bite, especially for a belgian. A little hay and grass, as well as a little spicy yeast in the nose. Honey like low level sweetness in the flavor too. Dry and spicy. Hops make their presence known again. Not great, but pretty nice all around."

(bottle - 22 oz - 2010 vintage) Cloudy orange with a white head. Lightly spiced aroma with a ton of hops and some light fruity hints. Flavor is predominantly hop bitterness with a very light sweet and yeasty spice at the end.

fishonmyplane (505) - Newington, Connecticut, USA - MAY 21, 2014
2007 vintage (!). Unfortunately, the hops have faded over time, resulting in a brew with a rich palate, but a flavor that left me wanting more. I’m adding an extra 0.1 to my rating because I’m sure a fresh bottle would be better.
