Draft. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was thick, sticky, and light tan with good retention and lacing. Smelled of fruity Pez candy, distinct oak, cider vinegar, and unripe fruit funk. There were also whiffs of bourbon and red wine. Medium bodied with mingled sugary sweetness and acidity. Busy flavor profile that included the likes of bourbon, tart cherry, vanilla, toffee, and fruit liqueur. The sugars were a bit cloying. Kind of messy overall. Not bad, but didn’t quite all come together for me. beernbourbon (1593) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - JAN 11, 2011
Tap at itap. Pour is slightly cloudy copper with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly funky and floral with notes and light vanilla, cherry, and light malt. Flavor is very soft yet complex. Light funk, light sour notes, light vanilla notes, light wood, light cherry. Very smooth and velvety with light sour notes. drfabulous (8100) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - JAN 11, 2011
Draught at Broadway. Vanilla. Cherry. Oak. A very nice sour that blends these other flavors well. hombrepalo (1971) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 10, 2011
On Tap at Fountainhead. Pours a bronze with a a little white head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty malts, vanilla and fresh vinous oaky complexity with a touch of grassy hay. Lots of bourbon notes with a nice semi-tart white grape balance along with drier woody earthy flavors toward a crisp finish. Nicely aged and complex. bradner (91) - Oswego, Illinois, USA - JAN 8, 2011
Poured into a tulip at the Goose Island Brewery. Slight head, aroma of bourbon and slightly funky. Sour and tart fruit taste. It really works well. The bourbon flavor is present and makes this a remarkable beer. Bottle this please!

Aroma is heavily influenced by the bourbon -lots of coconut, some light cherry and raisin notes underneath, with a touch of caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, with a light tartness, some cherry, lots of cherry, light bitterness, and lots of vanilla bourbon. jckp64 (356) - St Louis, Missouri, USA - JAN 7, 2011
On tap at the Good Pie in St. Louis. Pretty mild sour. Hints of bourbon and vanilla are evident. Pours amber with a very light head. Overall a pretty good sour. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 6, 2011
On tap at The Reef. I thought this was a nice sour ale that had a hint of oak and bourbon from the barrel to balance out the sour. Interesting sour ale and very good. bdigital (658) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - JAN 4, 2011
Draft at Trion...pours a light bronze with a medium tan head. Nose is bright, funky berry notes with some mild vanilla and oak notes coming through. Medium bodied...flavors consist of tart berries, oak and vanilla bean on the finish. Unique brew. Nickls (2541) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - JAN 3, 2011
Tap, RFD. Slightly hazy, but really mostly clear. Light orange hue with a thinnish white head. Light soapy funk in the aroma and flavor, and caught some barrel-aging, but not much...more a sweetness in the aroma and flavor that almost lended itself to a strawberry-like fruitiness at some points. Sourish finish, and a warming note from the BA, and an earthy and fruit funk finish. Lighter but slick body. Not bad, but a bit too sweet at this point. More funk and sour needed, just too rounded for me.
