On tap at El Bait Shop. The beer pours a light orange with a small white head and very little lace. The aroma is floral with some light resiny booziness and a little bit of orange rind. The flavor is certainly tart but also boozy and bourbon-like, but not in the way that Bourbon County Stout is, I suppose that is to say that it does not taste like bourbon was added to this beer even though it picks up very distinct characters of bourbon like cherry and a bit of that twang very "sour mashy" bourbon gets... which is likely the interplay of the sourness of the beer (which is nice but light) mixing with the bourbon from the barrel. There is some woodiness and a good deal of spiciness to the beer as well. It’s a very noble concept all around and I liked the beer, but it seems like more of a "festival beer" than anything that would see wide release. Draught. Very little bourbon at all, the the oak is perceivable. Lightly acidic aroma. Light colored, and well carbonated beer. It is sour, with a quick finish on the palate. Nuffield (4202) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - DEC 9, 2010
Not awesome, but the sour edge was authentic and appreciated, and although I was surprised at how light and clear it was, it had the mouthfeel and flavor profile of a much murkier, richer beer. Not bad at all. On tap at Heritage Liquors, Maplewood, MN. wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 7, 2010
Tasted on draft at FoBAB 2010. Pours clear golden with a thick white head that leaves a smooth lace blanket over the beer. The nose is dill with sweet oak and light fruites (golden raisin, apple, and apricot). The flavor is dill with the same sweet fruits and a good amount of vanilla oak. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long vanilla oak finish. sherm1016 (1274) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 4, 2010
On Draft at Three Cellars. Pours an amber red color with a thin white head and minimal lacing. Aroma is a faint bourbon smell. A little heavy on the palate with nice carbonation. Flavor is a very mild sour with bourbon up front an vanilla on the back end. A very interesting beer.

Had on tap at Clybourne Brewpub after several tiny BCBS Rare Stouts. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - NOV 24, 2010
A-pours a transparent dark golden amber with a pure white head.
S-the nose is quite nice, good dry oak aromas with a touch of vanilla. Still rather strong even after holding BCBS. Notes of leathery brett come in next, sour green apples with some juicy red grapes and hints of lactose (lactobacillus?).
T-again lots of dry oak with just a touch of vanilla, dry leathery brett, sour juicy green apples with vinous properties of juicy red grapes (zin like). hints of lactose towards the back.
M-little thin but very lively carbonation with a hint of driness in the back, more would have been awesome but the creamy feel makes up for it.
D-pretty well integrated flavors of brett and lacto, rather complex, a little strong on the wood but i actually enjoy that.
Sampled at FoBAB 2010. Golden pour with white head. Aroma is boozy, bourbon and funky, some sour fruit. The bourbon/sour dynamic was one I hadn’t experienced a lot before FoBAB this year. It goes together a lot better than I thought. A lot of bourbon, vanilla and oak in the flavor, into a acidic sour finish. Pretty interesting. Definitely worth a try. User29624 (1687) - - NOV 20, 2010
FoBAB. Pours a hazy gold with thin off white head. Aroma of funk, brett, bourbon, light fruit? Citrus, brett, and slightly tart. Decent beer I guess. TheGuy (920) - Illinois, USA - NOV 18, 2010
On tap @ Old Chicago Rockford GI promo night Poured pale golden with reddish hue aroma was all bourbon up front followed, sour fruits, yeast, and vanilla oak esters the taste is in your face bourbon with all the others coming in to play,a little on the boosey side but I am impressed with the ageing of this in used BCS barrels and a lot of the flavors infused into this from the process very nice slitcher (273) - Freeport, Illinois, USA - NOV 17, 2010
On draught @Old Chicago Goose Island beer tasting. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a minimal head. Aromas of bourbon, butter and sour fruit. Flavors are the same as the aroma; bourbon up front with a sour finish...really liked this beer.
