Fairly malty with some floral and earthy hop character. Caramel and bread in the background. Not too interesting. deyholla (12034) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 28, 2012
On tap at the Clyborn location. Pours a clear ruby amber with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a breast malt note with a bit of light grassy hops. Flavor starts with a combo of grass and pine hops but quickly mellows to sweet grain, caramel and a hint of sweet berry. brewmechanic (2) - - DEC 23, 2012 does not count

Sampler flight on tap at Goose Island Clybourn (Chicago, IL). Pours a deep copper hue, kiss of haze, gorgeous deep hues, penny glow throughout. A frothy offwhite head sits atop, inviting layer sticks around and laces well. Aromas gentle biscuits and carmelization meet earthy florals, firm bitter hops, grass and gentle toast. Initial is dry earth, gentle carmelization. Pale malts, bit of caramel, toast. Dry florals, grass, and firm bitterness hit the palate. Touch of biscuit. Middle is earthy hop dryness, firm florals and grass, growing earth, toast, kiss of toffee malt. A mo8uthfeel of earthy hops linger into the backend, dry and toasty, good synergy between the elements. Not complex. Earthy, floral, good bitterness lingers on. Nice ESB, rich fresh hopping albeit a bit out of my style range as far as my personal preference. Opting more for One More.

Sample at the Clybourn brewpub. Pours a clear dark copper color with a thin white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Aroma of caramel malt and fruit. Medium body with flavors of sweet malt, caramel and ripe fruit. the finish is malty with a mild hop aftertaste. Decent overall. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 13, 2012
The latest in the "goose" series, Draft at Clybourn. Pours a deep copper with a tannish head that persists. Nose is quite nutty and some cocoa notes, light caramel and a harsh resin note as well. Perhaps even solventy? On tasting, mid-dark caramel malts. cocoa/nuts and a raisin note. Quite toasty and cocoa with caramel. Noted bitterness overall. Definitely not my type of beer. olr1984 (1500) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Poured at goose island with flight. Dark gold pour with slight off white head.
