Draft on tap at Belgian Fest (Chicago, IL). Pours a richer amber orange pour, with frothy whitish head atop, good lacing, mellow film. Laces a small film. Aromas are peppery, spicy and capsacian. Some mellow bread, toffee, lemon, and pale malts. Initial is medium bodied, perhaps a touch lighter. A lot of earthy pepper flavor, lemon florals. Gentle spice, bready malts into the middle. Grainy, some florals. Earth, spice, peppers. Gentle heat starts to grow on the backend, heat, Anaheim and earthy pepper flavors mix. Finish is gentle spice, kiss of citrusy lemon/lime, and some bread, pale malts, nice pepper presence without taking dominance, more a compliment. Very nice. Draft at Clybourn. Pours a nice orangey gold with a fluffy white head that fades. Nose is full of fresh cut green pepper, noted heat in the nose. Clean. Fruity and citrusy hops, nice malt backbone. On tasting, more heat than the cherry bomb. Persistent green pepper flavor and some fruitiness as well. Clean and nice pepper base here. Works well, wish I’d tried the other two as well...
