COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

pretty close to a true amber: i borrowed a girlfriend's amber earring to compare: the goose island, with it's very light haze only lacks a little petrified gnat to make it identical. pantone 138 (that's graphic designer talk for 'brown orange'). them little bubbles on top are adequate, they don't hold the fragrance down, (as if they could), and an aromatic abundance of orangey-hops are free to move about the cabin. very fresh and clean smelling: perhaps surgical equipment should be disinfected in a good india pale ale. considering the price and availability (both good- out here in the rust belt anyway), though it's not hugely distinctive, this is a noble, work horse ale.

Good, but nothing real distinctive. Your pretty standard IPA. Tastes great at the key shop, in the new basement, or the back of a Honda.

Yum...fantastic aroma. It made me say 'wow' out loud. Good description from TrappistAlesRule - this is a fine brew. Think I'll crack another...

Ass-kicking hop flavor. Initially there was a bit of a clash of the hops with its malty body, but they soon balanced into a great beer. Re-rate addition: The nitro tapped version of this is a disappointment--gives it a creamy, inappropriately smooth mouthfeel. This helped me understand what CAMRA guys have against nitro--this is really better in the bottle than after undergoing the nitro treatment.

Pretty good IPA. It has a grapefruity taste to it. .......................

Now this is what I'm talking about! Great bright color, citric, piney aroma, tremendous bitter flavor and aftertaste, with just enough malt to keep it even. Big Daddy fans will really like this one. Certainly the best non-West Coast IPA I've had to date.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2012 Incredible presence of hops on the nose and on the finish, strong caramel notes with a touch of sweet grapefruit. Impressive hop finish with a pine needle flavor, ever so slightly off balance, medium length. Crisp and refreshing, one of my go-to summer brews.

I am sucker for IPAs, and enjoy this from the bottle at home or on tap, when I'm in Chicago.

Very hoppy - enjoyable. Citric hoppy (grapefruit, a little orangey). Hops abundant in flavor and aroma. Medium body keeps it well rounded.
