Dirty yellow body topped with a dense white head. Nice lacing. Big banana/wheat nose. Very rich mouthfeel. Full of rich wheaty flavors, banana bread, and other light fruit. Nie Hefe.

On draught in Wrigleyville. Hazy yellow with a tremendous white frothy head. Aroma dominated by yeasty, citrus notes which is carried through in the flavor. Some fruit esters, although not some of the strong clove like flavors present in the some of the German hefeweizens. In fact, I first had this in Chicago a number of years ago, and seem to recall a more asseritve flavor profile. Nonetheless, enjoyable and refreshing.

Draft as hefe hawks win. Nose is full of banana with a light sulfur aroma. Faint bubble gum. Restrained phenols. Taste is all bananas and bubble gum. Quenching.

Beautifully cloudy, deep orange/yellow in color with a thin creamy head. Aroma rides high with fried, dried banana chips, anise, cloves and vanilla. Taste comes in as more lemony and yeasty. Light croissants, pepper and Orange Dream soda round out the flavor. A little thin with a creamy interjection. Decent.

Surprising good. Lots of banana and clove. Even some sugary sweetness. One of the better German Hefes I’ve had.

Draft at Clybourne. Nice banana clove aroma. Medium bodied but with a slight thin texture. Flavor of pale wheat malt countered by lots of clove, and a hint of banana bubblegum. Lacks the sweetness of the Hefes I like. However, still a very nice example of the style.

On the beers from Goose Island I hadn’t had the chance to try yet, and I finally get it at the new Whole Foods on North. Pours cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma of banana, clove, yeast, and some other spices. Good flavor, banana comes through. Good stuff
