Apr 21, Draugt @ County Clare, Milwaukee. Pours clear golden with a small longlived creamy head leaving great lacing. Malty, piny, citric and fruity aroma, nice. Low carbonation. Sweet piny mouthfeel. Piny, citric, malty, fruity pleasant flavor. Medium palate. Finishes piny sweet with a very nice bitter bite. chibuck (3513) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 30, 2011
On tap at GI poured into a tulip...Dark copper pour with amber notes. Off white head that has a really nice cap, good lacing too...The aroma is super malty, caramel and a little vanilla, not much hops but you do get the sorachi as it warms and they are too strong. I’m not getting this at all...The taste is a better, still a very malty ipa though, vanilla is more dominant. The sorachi are still too present and dominant all the hop presence. Medicinal notes too, I just can’t enjoy this.
Ipa that is a miss for sure. deyholla (11600) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 10, 2011
Sampled from the tap at the Clybourn location. Poured a clear amber gold with a tan head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma had a floral note with light fruits and citrus as well as backing light grain. The flavor was a combination of floral, light fruit and citrus with a bit of backing pine. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 8, 2011
Part of a sampler at goose island clybourn... Pours a transparent caramel toffee brown with a thin white head... Aroma has some citrus juice hope alongside some Ginger and sage like aspect that doesn’t totally jive. Pine to round things out... Flavors are sweet with ginger, citrus, and pine. Somewhat cloying. zebra (2138) - Illinois, USA - DEC 21, 2010

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2011 Clear orange gold with a thin head. Earthy nose with some of those wet grains that have been in too many of the gi beers today. Bitter hops citrus with pale malts dirty and earthy. A little sweet and a little disappointing. Not too great. 7/3/7/3/13 drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 8, 2010
draft at the brewpub. pours caramel color with white head. nose is very sweet and fruity, cotton candy and juicy fruit notes. this is one sweet iipa, cotton candy and caramel notes with red and juicy fruit hop notes. heavy sweet finish, rather underattenuated and lacking bitter units to balance this at least a little. closer to a double red or american barleywine but really not my cup of tea.
