Yellow amber color, decent head. Malty and hoppy with a short finish. Kind of boring

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Produced a clear ale with an amber-orange body with no head (perhaps because of my pour and the cold temperature of the beer.) The aroma was a clean, crisp hops. First taste provided medium to heavy bitterness which lingered throughout the tasting. The overall body of the ale was clean, medium bodied with a bitter, metallic aftertaste which diminished quickly. The "rich malt middle" provided in the commercial description was not evident, though I have found that a pale ales malt notes develop as it reaches room temperature.

Im not a huge fan of APAs, but this one is OK in my book. It doesnt have the overwhelming, brutal, hoppy bitterness characteristic of the type, but it isnt timid either. Well balanced and suitable for long evenings chatting with friends.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dark beige color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of dry malt with some English hops. Taste is also dominated by some malt presence with a dry finish from what I believe are English hops. Body was quite full with some good carbonation. A bit too dry for my liking but very enjoyable nonetheless.

12oz bootle wife got for me in Wi. Aroma of sweet malt and spice. Dark golden body with off white head. Flavor has a spicey dryness but along with that you get a tolerable sweet juciy malt mix. Also some lemon citric acid in there as well. Complex beer but a decent one.

When I pop the lid, I thought yeasty, but there is some choco aroma in there someplace. It pours looking like a dunkel weizen, light brownish and cloudy. Taste certainly has hop preservative in there. I also get a hint of chocolate passing thru to the taste. Hey this is not APA, its EPA! This is right there with other English Pale ales, on par with Ottos Mt. Nittany Pale Ale, Great Divide Denver Pale Ale and Spanish Peaks Black Dog Ale.

English hops and malt in the nose, golden body, small white head. Maybe EKG and Fuggles: herbal, grassy hops with a bit of fruitiness. Mild body, refreshing, nicely balanced, under-rated here.
