COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honker’s Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honker’s Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one you’ll look forward to time and again.

An attractive brown/amber colour with a small head. Pleasant hops, light fruitiness with some caramel and peach. Ok

A Mes rate: Bottle from Whole Foods. Wasn’t gonna drink this but Rudiger opened it "accidentally" after we had been on a bender so it got a rate. Amber colour with a faint white head. Sweetish with toffee and some slight orangey notes. Slight wheaty malt. Run of the mill.

Bottle. A superb beer. Lovely bright brown colour. Full of flavour, this is goes down extremely smooth.

Bottle. Poured light and creamy with very little head and little lacing. Could smell some fruit blends along with malts. Medium body that went down smooth with a good amount of hops. Complimented this beer with some pizza which worked out well. This is nothing fancy, but a very drinkable beer.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2009 Amber with good, foamy beige head / Light to medium body with good balance and finish / Flavors of toasted malt, orange peel, lemon, and candied caramel flavors / A fine example of the style.

Gregis (1281) - Stilwell, Kansas, USA - JUN 24, 2007
On tap at Coco Bolos in Overland Park. Given a choice between BMC, Dos Equis XX Amber and Honkers, the choice was easy. This is a clear amber/orange beer with a creamy, off-white head. The nose is sweet caramel malts with no discernible hop presence. The mouthfeel is light to medium-bodied, soft and dry at the finish with a faint hop bitterness. This is a malt-forward pale ale with a caramel front and a lightly bitter hop finish. Overall, it makes for a nice session beer.

Bottle. Yeasty aroma with light aromatic hops and a tasty bit of chocolate and toffee. Orange-copper, clear pour with a soapy beige head. Crisp taste with biscuit and cracker taking the lead, lightly bitter with English hops and slight fruitiness. Clean medium body and more of the same into the notably dry afterparty. Pleasant and refreshing quaffer, something of an ESB crossed with an American amber.

On tap at Clybourn pub, Chicago. Actually tastes almost like an ESB to me-- maybe not quite bitter enough. I think this beer has a nice flavor-- but nothing spectacular. Probably a good conversion beer-- like Sam Adams, etc.

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2007 Tap @ Navy Pier Beer Garden, Chicago, IL: Big Foamy whitish head, lasting. Bitter hoppy aroma, somewhat malty, but weakish. Sweet taste, not overly hoppy or malty. Decent taste. Kind of an appley taste.
