Wispy orange citrus and light grain aroma. Orange-copper pour, with a creamy ring of ivory. Flavor is a sweet, crisp malt with a wafting edge of light toast, earthy grains and nice goat cheese over faint cream. I really appreciate the balance of up-front fruity hop character, with the more rustic deep roughly-hewn grain character in the middle. A nice long minerally crisp hop finish, maybe edging a little American? Smacks on fresh hop cone resin. Worked nicely on draft with my Ploughmans Platter.

This one was just okay with me. Ive been exposed to a few Goose Island products and have enjoyed each of them. This too was a decent beer, but I have to say that most ESBs Ive had are just...okay. Aroma is definitely malty with a bit of citric hops playing in the back. Appearance is a deep copper color with a nice head. Medium-bodied on the palate. A strong malt presence on the palate with just a nice hop character to let you know its an ESB. Nothing too over the top here either way. A decent beer.

12oz - BB 112206 - Aroma of stale citrus hops blended with a maltiness that is actuall inviting. Pours transparent light brown with a medium head and good lacing. Flavor is bland with no hops, all malt and a touch of lemon. Palate is clean and soapy. Nothing special here but drinkable.

Weak-looking as it pours, nice darkish head, good lacing. Spicy in a very drinkable fashion.Hops smooth. A pretty good effort and one Ill try again.

Pours orange, was very hoppy..notes of citrus. The flavor is more spicy and ends bitter with a smooth finish. Goes nice with the Buffalo Burger as advertised.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber-orange with an average size mostly-lasting white head. Pleasant U.K. hops aroma with some toasty malt backing it up. Flavour: Easy to drink C-hops and malt blend, lightly spicy and with a nice bitter finish. Medium bodied. A decent version of the style.

Bottle: Copper coloured, small and quite stable foamy layer, slightly hazy with clumps (of yeast?); spicy hoppy nose with some bready, almost nutty aromas and some malt in the background; stronger, dry bitter flavour, light bodied; tart fruitiness, hop resins in the lingering dry bitter finish. Very good stuff !
