UPDATED: JUL 3, 2007 [rerate needed] Nice rich color, good hoppy flavor. Not as strong as most pale ales, but has a nice texture in my mouth. MrRomero (1976) - Nolanville, USA - JAN 11, 2003
At O'hare in Chicago. Hoppy aroma and flavor. Thin non lasting head. A nice beer to pass the time away when at O'hare. UnionMade (621) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 10, 2003
Nice stuff. Much maltier and heavier than your average pale ale. Dark amber color, with little head dissipating to nothing as you drink. Has a worty nose to it, like it hasn't been fermented yet. I like that smell. I'm guessing they used a low alpha cascade variety, with pale malts and a bit of caramel malt. That's some beer geekspeak right there. Suck it down, cousin, it's good. grant (842) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JAN 9, 2003
Has that damn perm or 'barber shop' hops smell to it. Anyone know what kind of hops these are? Very light, even for an APA. Not as much malt presence as I like, even in an APA. This is OK. Funny, I""ve heard two people rave about this to me; I feel a bit let down. cb (810) - Roeland Park, Kansas, USA - JAN 9, 2003
Watery and somehow good. Flavorful, light head. Not your average APA, thank goodness. One of the best of the style I"ve tried.

light amber color, with a thinish, quickly dissipating head. Bitter aroma, with hoppy notes, and a slight unpleasant metalic odor. Very thin, watery palate. Flavor is rather bitter throughout, but not in a particularly good way. Nothing much else in the flavor to speak of. This bottle is a little old, so maybe it's gone bad, but I don't think this beer is much to speak of at all. Bierlieber (49) - Evanston, Illinois, USA - JAN 5, 2003
not a bad apa, but not a great one either. the more they make the lighter in flavor this seems to have gotten over the last 5 years. try their ipa for a real winner. homerman (40) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - DEC 29, 2002
A little cloudy in appearance. The head was ok. Tastes both fruity and a little hoppy. Yes, I can taste the yeast coming through. kwoeltje (2234) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - DEC 29, 2002
From the bottle. Nicely balanced ale--neither hops nor malt overwhelms the other. BillKismet (4177) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 28, 2002
This beer must have been nitrogenated. Light amber body with a nitrogenated looking cream head. Playful, light, fruity hoppiness in the nose with a creamy, fruity hopped body. A merger between an APA and a cream ale. Eh.
