Bottle to sampler cup. Poured a darker yellow with medium head. This supposedly had more IBUs than the "mild winter" but I couldnt tell. Seemed more mellow to me. It was alright, but another "meh"

12 oz bottle. Wow, this was a pleasant surprise. Copper hue, lacey medium head. Citrus hops with malty notes make it bitter but quite bearable.

Appearance-- pours a cream colored 1/2" head that recedes slowly leaving decent lacing. Color is amber/copper and mostly clear with abundant carbonation bubbles streaming. Aroma-- very malty -- smells of slight cinnamon and a moist dough, such as a warm muffin from the oven, a peppery hop spice is also evident. Mouthfeel-- mostly light, watery, and refreshing. Has a somewhat lager like mouthfeel with a dry finish, although there is some of the fluffiness which should be present in the English Bitter style. Flavor-- well balanced, hops are in the background and subservient to the malt. Flavors include a peppery and earthy hop spice, a rich bready malt (again like a fresh warm muffin, or a fresh whole wheat bread). There is some caramel and just a hint of cinnamon. This beer is not overly sweet and the aftertaste has a lingering citrus rind bitterness.

Pours a clear copper body with a nearly non-existent head. Pleasant sweet biscuit with a slightly dry finish. Like stated below, very simple and easy drinking.

Jan. 23, 2007; 12 oz. bottle. This was the only serviceable beer I could find at Chicagos OHare Intl whle passing through there recently, and I was somewhat surprised to see it turn up on a shelf here in Upstate NY today. Amber color, nice balance with a tasty, candyish malt profile and some slightly spicy & fruity hops. The brewers were really on to something here, but stumbled a bit with the lightness & watery finish.

Look: pours a gold straw color. Thick white head. Smell: hoops in the beginning. Pine flavors almost zero fruit smell. Taste: taste pint, slightly bitter on the back end. Also good amount of malt. Feel: good carbonation. Easy on the palate. Not heavy at all. Leaves no film on the mouth. Overall: not a bad summer beer. Not as citrus as I like but still a good flavor. Well balanced. First drank: 5/25/14 at CCD

Aroma is mild yet pleasant with a touch of semi-sweet malts and perhaps a spicing from hops. A real solid smelling beer considering the bitter style. The drink is bland with no real taste other than a minor bitterness of hops whereas the malts are missing altogether.

I ordered this from the tap at a restaurant in Kenosha WI. Pours a darkish color. Not sure what beer the commercial description is aiming for, but its not this one. No aroma, barely any flavor -- almost all malt. Not sure Id try it again.

Nice malts... hops were there too, but not as much as i would have expected. Sort of reminded me of Killians with more hops. Pretty good.
