COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honker’s Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honker’s Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one you’ll look forward to time and again.

OK, well, not bad. Poured a little more red than I thought it would - kind of a clear red-gold, with a foamy 2 finger domed head. The nose is faintly urine and a little honey, like my impression of a lot of goose island beers. It’s not totally offensive, just a little off. Starts honey, a midriff of pine-resin, and finishes with some lightly bitter hops. Not offensive, a little intriguing. But pine resin? I should probably try it again just to be sure.

Appearance-- pours a cream colored 1/2" head that recedes slowly leaving decent lacing. Color is amber/copper and mostly clear with abundant carbonation bubbles streaming. Aroma-- very malty -- smells of slight cinnamon and a moist dough, such as a warm muffin from the oven, a peppery hop spice is also evident. Mouthfeel-- mostly light, watery, and refreshing. Has a somewhat lager like mouthfeel with a dry finish, although there is some of the fluffiness which should be present in the English Bitter style. Flavor-- well balanced, hops are in the background and subservient to the malt. Flavors include a peppery and earthy hop spice, a rich bready malt (again like a fresh warm muffin, or a fresh whole wheat bread). There is some caramel and just a hint of cinnamon. This beer is not overly sweet and the aftertaste has a lingering citrus rind bitterness.

Pours an amber / orange with a slight off white head. Aroma is nice floral hops with some fruitiness and some sweet malt. Mouth feel is medium, malts are sweet and hops are slightly bitter. I did not get the Pale ale experience on this one but all and all a good drinking beer.

color cobrizo, maltas tostadas en muy poca cantidad equilibran esta cerveza con toques de fruta y lúpulo.bebida en goose island.

Bottle to sampler cup. Poured a darker yellow with medium head. This supposedly had more IBUs than the "mild winter" but I couldn’t tell. Seemed more mellow to me. It was alright, but another "meh"

Jan. 23, 2007; 12 oz. bottle. This was the only serviceable beer I could find at Chicago’s O’Hare Int’l whle passing through there recently, and I was somewhat surprised to see it turn up on a shelf here in Upstate NY today. Amber color, nice balance with a tasty, candyish malt profile and some slightly spicy & fruity hops. The brewers were really on to something here, but stumbled a bit with the lightness & watery finish.

Correcte !

Bottled on 10.07.13. Poured into a tumbler on 12.30.13. A: See through red/amber. Looks very carbonated. S: Pine, citrus. Smells like an APA. T: Pine, malty. M: Crisp. Lots of carbonation. Maybe too much. O: This didn’t seem complex. It was easy to drink, but boring.

Pours a clear copper body with a nearly non-existent head. Pleasant sweet biscuit with a slightly dry finish. Like stated below, very simple and easy drinking.
