mmm....good drinking beer. This is like....what you drink when you want a straight ahead beer. Nothing fancy, just good. It is a very nice rich color, but not too light or dark. The head is smooth and the carbonation just right. Goes great with food and doesn’t overpower anything. Just nice. Very well done. I’m digging this hometown brew. Hooray Chicago beer!

Clear amberish copper with a thick rocky ivory head. Bright English malty nose thats a touch bready with quiet grassy slightly pear-like hop tones. Crisp English bready malt flavors dominate the palate with a crisp semidry body and super gentle toffee with a very light citrus floral hop grassiness. Very quiet hops but not so malty that it goes into the dark or doppel category. Just a brisk malty English Ale.

Bread and malt smells with some sour apple.Pours a cloudy orange with an anemic white qyuickly dissipating head. Plenty of lacing. Oily bitter flavors of leather and a little caramel malty notes. Good imitation of the style.

Bottle 12 fl.oz / Le Grain dOrge - Crissioer (CH). Amber with an average cream head and aromas of hop, caramel, slight fruity white and lemon. The taste is dry, malt, caramel, hop, slight fruity, bitter grassy-earthy, notes of lemon, zest and biscuit. Well and truly bitter.

Pours deep copper. Small head. Not much to nose bar light caramel and hops. Tastes like a session English ale but then finishes dry and hoppy unlike an English ale. Quite pleasant, but is that enough these days 🤔.

A 12 fl oz bottle, bottled on 18th November 2016 and best before 18th November 2017. Poured into a Mikkeller pint glass. It was a nice clear copper colour with a one finger off white head that slowly dissipates to a nice thin creamy layer while leaving curtain like lacing. Aromas were a bit light, but what I do get was grassy, nutty, sweet malt and hints of toffee. Tastes of toasty biscuit malt, caramel, nuttiness with hints of orange citrus. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall not my favourite style, but this is easy to drink.
