COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lovers dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one youll remember.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2013 A great old-school IPA. Very hoppy, but not very bitter. Lots of citrus notes... I could swear there is orange zest in here. Malts are dry and take a backseat to the hops. The hops are smooth up front, crisp and spicy in the middle, aromatic and lingering in the finish.

Damn fine American IPA. Loaded with hops, this one will not leave you disappointed. Piney aroma and a grapefruit after taste. Wonderful out of the bottle.

On tap at Quintons. Nice and hoppy aroma, citrus lemon mostly. Came with a decent small sudsy white head, ok lacing, blonde orange in color. Taste is nothing really too crazy but good, alot of fresh citrus hop, some GI style roasty toffee-caramel type malt, good finish, slight spicy hop bite, medium to light feel. This beer will always be dear to my heart, especially in IC.

Bottle from MGM Mankato, pours with a golden browncolor, foamy white head that lasts a few minutes. Definite hop smell with some light floral and fruity notes. Flavor is definitely dominated by the hops in a good way, with the citrus flavor sneaking in. Lingering bitter finish that keeps the hops on your tongue.

We have a very hoppy and citrus aroma in taste and aroma. Good carbonation, sweet and strong notes of lemon. Smooth, felt silky in the mouth. Very nice.

12oz Pour $5.00 Goose Island Clybourn Gooses IPA was served in a straight tulip style glass. Poured a dark golden hinting at copper with a bright white one finger head. As the head fell to a thick cap it left sheet lacing down the glass. After every sip more sheet lacing was left leaving the whole glass opaque as the beer was put to bed. Goose Islands IPA had more of hop presence than expected. There is a solid biscuity malt with a touch or two of caramel showing through but the hops do manage to ease them from the picture. The hops come throgh very fragrant with floral overtones and citric undertones. Very nice aroma. Flavor runs right along the lines of the aroma. A semi-sweet pale and caramel maltiness start things off and just barely manage to keep some balance in the flavor. The hops aain are the showcase. Vibrant floral and citric hops with a touch of the resinous-ness (Ha-Ha) take over and create a very welcomed hop profile. Medium bodied with a carbonation on the sluggish side of moderate. This beer works through on its own to let the vibrant hoppiness show through. I honestly could session this beer with no problem at all. If I didnt have other things to do today I would probably still be sitting there drinking IPAs. A great IPA from Goose Island that, to me, seems very underrated. I have sampled bottles in the past and they werent quite as vibrant as the fresh tapped version. 10/20/07

Cloudy orange in color, head dissipates quickly. Hop pellets on the nose. Aroma and taste are consistent, balanced and consistent flavor throughout- evenness of hops. Mouthfeel is surprisingly creamy / heavy / suspended vs being sharp.

Pours copper with an egg white head. Taste and aroma are good hops, citrus and sweet orange flavours with a good bitter-sweet finish. Very lttle alcohol apparent. A good beer.

Pours a liquid gold with a nice sized white head. Aroma is hoppy. Nice and creamy on the palate with hops predominate on the flavor profile, sharp but not bitter. An IPA lovers delight. Pairs well with ham and cheese on rye.

Pours cloudy pale gold. Floral hop nose, with flavors well balanced citrus and floral hop flavors with smooth maltiness. Nothing spectacular, but just a really solid IPA without being too heavy on the hops.
