COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in cabernet barrels with blackberries, Juliet is a tart, fruity, complex ale. Notes of wood, tannin, dark fruit and spice make Juliet an ideal beer to suggest to Pinot Noir enthusiasts and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian sour ales.

Tap GTMW 2008 Aroma is lactic sourness, red fruit, some cereal. Taste is similar. Dull fruit, berry, and rye. Finishes dry, fizzy and berried. Not an overly layered beer, in my opinion, just a nice meshing of ingredients that is very good.

GTMW 08 - A damn fine beer. Pours murky brown with a minor tan head. The aroma has blackberries, lactic acid, light yeast and some grapes. Medium body with subdued tight carbonation. The flavor starts with sour lactic traits, followed by blackberries that seems very authentic and has a pithy characteristic. The finish is sour and tart with some graininess. Almost seems like a sour ale. Nice offering.

FoBAB 2008 offering: #806 - A very interesting sampling from Goose Island. Real murky brown pour with a small white head. Touches of funk and oak in the nose with a mild fruitiness. Taste is oaky, with dryness and vanilla, and notes of sour berries. Funky barnyard notes are present, but not prominent. Lighter fare, well carbonated, but very nice. Taste lingers quite well on the palate.

22 oz. Couple sessions. Split 3 ways, and 1 to the dome. Orange body with white head that seems a tint of pink or red @ times. Sweet aromas of pie crust n breadiness. Champagne like fruitiness. Belgian yeasty funk. Some wood, cherries, blueberries, apple release more as warms. Mouth is tangy. Sour, but not to the degree of my last sour, La Folie. Mouth is thin to mild with some sweet oakiness in between and a very VERY dry woody end, similar to a wine. Carbonated like a champagne. Had to give this a 2nd shot @ the price point. Sweet fruit on linger. Only my 3rd sour but seems to be on the mellow end of the style. Should buy one to age for a bit. Looking forward to rest of the series.

Pink hued amber color with a diminished, again pink tinted taupe color. Caramel and tart cherry scents. I somehow feel transported to a carnival with caramel corn and cherry slushy in hand. Light and airy feel. Hints of malt in the front, but quickly diverted to the side. Tart cherries and berries dominate the middle. Lightly acidic in the finish. Quite clean linger, with a hint of iron. Some wheat and malt sweetness wander about at times. This seems to beg for a hot summer day. To bad all the global warming "nut" want to spoil this for me.

Bottle, Jan. 09. Opaque ruby-red grapefruit color with a fine pinkish head. Toffee, butterscotch, and tangy berry nose. Funky, acidic undertones, kefir? Flavor is more one dimensional and much more what I was expecting. Acidic with the wood and blackberries coming through nicely. Soft but lively carbonation. Abrupt, soda like finish. Very nice.

Bottle shared by Adamn...thanks so much! Reddish/orange pour wtih a a light head. Tons of fruit up front with funky tartness and earth tones. Vinous notes are evident in the nose and on the tongue. Fruity but sour. But not crazy sour. Dry and rather good. Thanks adam!

Thanks to Honkeybra for this sexy brew. Crushed with Jakebra to celebrate my one year anniversary on RateBeer. Pretty nice nose of fruits, tartness, and funk. Flavor is even better and makes the mouth water. Very fruity and funky flavor. Really dug it.

Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing! We decided to dedicate this to Juliet on Lost and I think it fits aptly. Pours a gorgeous orange-pink-red with a white ring. Rich sour-tart aroma, of under-ripe fruit, wood, and yeast. Sour and crisp taste, of tart fruits, yeast, wine, and a hint of sugar. Lingering crisp sourness that ends a bit watery. Drinkable and quite nice.
