Scopey (14501) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 3, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2012 Bottle, thanks to Bruce at THE Barley Wine Tasting, August 2012. It pours cloudy deep brown, with a thin beige film. The nose is toasted coconut, vanilla, caramel, touch of beef gravy, chocolate caramel, bourbon and toffee. The taste is caramel, wood, bourbon, raisin, prune, brown sugar, slight tanginess, medicinal notes, chewy toffee and treacle, with a sweet finish. Full body, slow carbonation and sticky mouth-feel . Hides the alcohol well. Smooth, well balanced and approachable. Cleary stood out as one of the best of the night. johnnnniee (4236) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 26, 2012

Pours a deep copper color with a smallish off white head that dissipates quickly. Wow that smells great. Lots of caramel and brown sugar with some dark fruits like plums and cherries, a bit of oak and bourbon mixed with some oak tannins and a nice shot of ethanol. The flavor is what I expected based on the aroma. Sweet malty caramel and brown sugar, mixed with a fair amount of dark fruits, countered with ethanol and oak. Thick body with a warm sweet syrupy mouthfeel and a light level of carbonation. Very nice barleywine I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I can taste a slight hint of hype in it. illidurit (2327) - San Francisco, California, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Bottle shared at Woodshop 7. Pours a brownish copper color with a khaki head. Sweet caramel, chocolate and cappuccino notes with a firm, thick body. Woody with sweet warm bourbon accents, definitely a sweet massive sipper. jar72404 (426) - USA - AUG 25, 2012

Bottle. Pours a nice dark caramel amber color with a beige head. Aroma is really complex, lots of oak, bourbon, vanilla, almost stout like qualities of roasted malt and chocolate, some sweet and caramel malt, toffee, charred oak, dark fruits, molasses and brown sugar. The flavor follows the nose and is amazing, lots of oak, bourbon and vanilla, with the stouty notes of roasted and toasted malt and chocolate, some sweet and caramel malt, charred oak, dark fruits, molasses, brown sugar and toffee. The body is full with a sticky mouth feel. Overall an amazing Barley Wine, and probably the best I have had! Camons (12296) - Hasselager, DENMARK - AUG 19, 2012

Bottle. Pours bit hazy deep amber with a medium beige head. The aroma is heavy malty with notes of ripe fruit, berries, biscuits, bread and sweet toasted caramel. The flavour is oak, vanilla, biscuits, caramel, sweet malt, loads of malt, warming alcoholic and it has a slight acidic malty note that balances it very well. saxo (18208) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - AUG 18, 2012
