Tap at Blind Tiger. Very pale, crystal clear, pink-tinted beer. The nose is lightly wheaty with a kiss of fruitiness. Not terribly spicy at all – just a little bit of light lemony tartness with a bit of wheaty flavour on the back. As it warms, there is a kiss of chewy/jammy berry fruitiness. It’s okay, but it seems to be missing something. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUN 6, 2010
Tap at BT. Pours a light copper and thin head and low carb. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, oaky, then slick with tons of butter, diacetyl, sweet butterscotch, a touch of alcohol, and very low to no rasp on the aroma. Flavor was a bit more raspberry and a bit lower in diacetyl, earth, toast, slick sweet toffee and more butterscotch, vanilla, oak, bourbon, alcohol burn, caramel, and a slick sweet finish. This one went wrong somewhere. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAR 2, 2010
Draft. Pours an amber body with a white head. Raspberries oak y smooth soft notes with a warming vanilla or menilla notes. There is an odd paper quality kinda reminiscent to the aroma of fresh xeroxed paper amongst the raspberry notes. A bit sweet with notes of rich mash mellows. Not sure how exactly i felt about this. Tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a medium amber with a very thin white head. Nose is yeasty and a touch fruity and a bit boozy. Since I typically don’t like saison and this is not a typical saison I kind of like it despite how disjointed it is. It’s a bit all over the places touch fruity, and boozy, with decent carbonation. Finish is sweet again with that hint of booze. It’s almost bourbonny. zdk (1917) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 1, 2010
some fruity flavors coming out, but overall, just a funky, buttery, diacetyl mess.
