À la pompe au pub: Totalement noir avec une tête mocha foncé bien en place. Présence en bouche très sexy avec ses courants fruités, torréfiés et rôtis. Forte personnalité.

Draft, pours black with creamy tan head. Nose is nice and piney, big citrus juice kick, and coffee. Flavors are really piney, sweet and bitter chocolate, with raisins. chewy feel. Nice big hoppy stout.

Dark pour with a single finger head. Great lacing. Pineapple aroma. Mouth is smooth and velvety. Taste is hoppy with a roastiness in there. Really well done.

On tap @ Goose Island Clybourn with Erica on 10.18.2012. In town for Jen’s and Mark’s engagement party. Black pour with light brown head. Aroma of toast, sausage, grease, oatmeal. Taste is sweet and roasty with a bit of maple syrup. Slick mouthfeel with long, roasty legs. Good.

Super tobacco beer. Weird because the smokiness of the beer is more musty than you would expect. Has a nice amount of chocolate malts and a pleasant and fairly balanced hop edge... tried with Nick and his friend at the brewery in 2012.

Sample at the Clybourn brewpub. This Stout pours Black with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee, anise and malt. Medium body with a roasty character and flavors of coffee, licorice, malt and hops. The finish is mildly bitter with a roast coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap at the Goose Island Clybourn location. Big time citrus/grapefruit scents, taste is some nice sweet malt and a nice bitter, almost like a black IPA.
