A small beer made from the second runnings of our Old Aberration Barleywine. A light malt character with a centennial hop middle and a clean dry finish. An AbeNormally drinkable brew. Served in a Pint glass.

Cask conditioned at Wrigleyville: About one of the few highlights of the day since the Cubs could not get a clutch hit...any ways...A hazy ameber hue with a small but lasting off-white foamy head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of caramel and toffee, floral hops, dusty yeast esters and a dash of pear. The taste was surprisingly more bitter than expected with a nice bite on the finish supported by smooth malts. The mouth feel is soft and refined as one would hope from a cask bitter. This is very much on par with your common British pint except a tad hoppier. Good stuff all told.

Draft Wrigleyville: Well its better than Anchor Small. Thats all my notes on this one say other than my rating for it. It was a nice session, light and smooth.

Clybourn. Transparent, magnifying and polished brass in color with a dense, thick, foamy tan head thats half an inch tall and retracting with melted marshmallow lacing. Charming aroma of maraschinos, almonds, grenadine, whole wheat bread and a touch of copper kettle kisses. Lighter flavor load with a creamy onset from the head seeping in. Pale ale allegories. Slight sourdough bite with a touch of saltiness, taking on a character of Lays potato chips. Its a mild, so theres no point in droning on about it being a lightweight, yet the hoping profile carries continuously throughout, and is prevalent in the semi-dry finish as well.

Draft @ Clybourn. Clear medium caramel pour with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Spicy hops and caramel malt in the nose... just a bit weak. Flavor followed the aroma well, and was powerfully smooth. Mildly bitter floral at the finish. Light-bodied and felt a bit watery across the middle, but still smooth and well-done.

Draft Brewery Clybourn (Old Notes)- Pours a clear amber with a small head. Aroma of caramel, slight hops, and grains. Taste of the same with some bitterness. This light bodied brew did nothing for me.

On tap at Goose Island Clybourn. Amber body with a good white head. Not much of an aroma. This is a "second running" beer, and it tastes like it. It tasted a bit earthy to me, but mostly watered down, like tea from a tea bag that has been used too much. Not terribly impressive.

Clear, amber body with a rather large, densely-packed layer of cream-colored foam. Mild, malty aroma of caramel, whole grains, some light fruit (apples and grapes), a relatively pronouced earthy element and some light floral perfume. The body is thin, but thats to be expected from a second-runnings beer. The flavor is mild and shows the malt as the strongest element in the mix. The sweetness and light toasted element is complimented by the mellow hop bitterness that comes out at the very end. Not a bad beer, but Im looking forward to the Old Aberration more.

Draught: fairly clear toasty, red-brown with a fairly thick taupish head. Decently interesting, malty aroma with some mushy fruits, lightly watered dirt and almost burnt toastthin on the tongue with hints of hops at the back of the mouth. As usual, an interesting beer to sample (I am glad that they dont waste anything), but not the most enjoyable

Good looking pour, a clear copper body with an off-white head that does some major lacing. After that, its pretty much like drinking malt scented water. The finish is wet.
