Cool opaque new copper color. Holds a white head. Woody, weedy, yeasty aroma with mineral and lichen. Medium body and flavor with bittersweet yeast, hops and fruit. Maintains a mild character. A complex, balanced enjoyable brew, and that’s what makes the key... balancing the complexity. solidfunk (8838) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAY 1, 2014
Initial smell is great. Smells like a lot of bretta, with some orange. Follow through a little watery. Pours cloudy orange with ok head and lacing. Light sour finish. Average carbonation. Thanks to Jack for a taste of this one. Tap at Churchkey Goose Island Migration Week event.

Draft at ChurchKey. Golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, funk, fruit peel, yeast. Tasting notes of funk, citrus, wheat, fruit peel, yeast. Medium-light body with a semi-dry finish. Not bad, prefer regular Matilda though. jackl (8028) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 30, 2014
Keg @ CK. hazy deep gold with a small head. Woody, dry Brett nose. Some manure. The taste is abut muted. Honeyed pear.
More dry, buggy wood. Fruit leather. Light body, could use some
Carbonation. OK. HIGHB4LL (837) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 20, 2014
On tap at the Mayor of Oldtown. Appearance: small white head, amber yellow, light cloudy, good lacing. Aroma: medical smells, light raspberry, sweetness of other fruit. Palate: light body, soft carbonation, dry finish, lingering medical taste. Taste: sweet to light tartness, medical. Overall, I could not get over the medical taste personally, very overpowering and distracting. Disappointed. 574deadzone (1415) - North Central, Indiana, USA - APR 12, 2014
Pours clear golden with an eggshell head that leaves a wall of intricate lacing. Nose involves some bretty earthy funk, some spice, light clove, and some sour apple. Lightly sweet, fairly bitter, a touch tart. Medium bodied, oily, earthy, fairly active, with a dry earthy finish. Nice brew, interesting twist on Matilda. Basically, it’s just a canvas for the brett, but it works nicely. johnnnniee (4249) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - APR 7, 2014
On tap at Doherty’s Ale House Warwick.
Hazy deep golden color. Funk, citrus, and earth with hints of tartness. Decent brew, nothing to write home about.
