GT (10001) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Tap at Out of the Park Pizza Anaheim. Full haze murky orange, huge yeast stirred up thanks to not letting the kegs settle from distribution. Nose is pretty nice potpourri style Brett, fresh white grapefruit. Taste is dry, bitter, harsher grapefruit peel, some red apple juice and tannins. Finish is cardboard, big chalky yeast explosion. Poor keg handling.

On draft at the Livermore Saloon. It pours golden with a white head. The aroma is candy sweet with some orange, funk, pear, apple and other fruity yeast esters. The flavor is funky, fruity and pretty nice. I was hoping for less sweetness and more sour.

Draft @ Hopleaf, Chicago, IL. Pours a hazy amber orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty bretty spicy yeasty aroma. Fruity malty bretty sour yeasty flavor. Has a fruity malty bretty sour finish.

Tap. Slightly hazy orange gold, thin white head. Slightly funky aroma, hay, red apples, and some berry sweetness in the aroma. Flavor could be funkier and drier, berries, red apple, some grass and light funk and acidity. Lighter body with effervescent carbonation. Not bad

Pour on tap at Mayor of Old Town, hazy yellow pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of grass, earth, some slight citrus notes into weird funky, bretty tones that don’t quite mix, slight biscuit and bread in there too. Taste is a mix of white fruit, grass and grain, some slight earthy tones, hints of brett, funky notes, finishing earthy and bitter.

On tap at Dexters, pours a clear gold with a thin head, aroma is more sweet than I was expecting, more Belgian yeast and barnyard than anything sour, the flavor is really light of yeast and banana with very little Brett characteristics, pretty let down, throw this stuff in a wine barrel and maybe it could turn into something.

4oz pour at Churchkey DC. Pours a pale amber with some cloudy white head. Nose is lots of candy sugar, some dried fruit, some raisin, honey, mild spice, a little cherry, some brown sugar. Flavor is very sweet, fruit cake, raisin, cherry, candy, a little orange. Finishes sweet. Where’s the brett?

Gold with a thick white head. Mild barnyard aroma. Flavor is more brett than any other bacterial notes. Not sour, just a little horsey. Ok but not very interesting.
