12 oz bottled 11/28/2012. Honey gold color with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet candy, bread, belgian yeast, and fruit. Sweet and spicy. Just how I like it. Nice sweet malts, fruity, floral, a bit of bread, with a nice subtle spiciness. Nice lingering spicy dry finish. Great pick for rate 250! Very enjoyable. zacgillbanks (5118) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2014

2011 bottle aged for 3 years. A hazy light amber-golden beer with a zesty fruit and spiced citrus flavour, floral fruity notes and a vanilla, lemon, bubblegum and blackcurrant finish. Excellent! commonmac (1201) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 5, 2014
Tap at New Bohemia. Beautiful appearance characterized by copper color. Little head. Taste is complex. Some spicy qualities. Some hops. Malt is there. Very easy to drink given the alcohol involved. Definitely one of Goose Island’s best. Finish is really solid. I would hook up with this Matilda. simmonap (3) - Colorado, USA - APR 15, 2014 does not count
Malty aroma, nice amber color, little to no white head. Nasty and spicy yeast profile. Great beer. generallee08 (772) - New York, USA - JUL 15, 2014
The body has warm reddish orange amber color with a cloudy haze. A thick and tall off white head caps off the beer and makes some nice lacing on the glass. In the nose I pick up lots of good things. There are notes of spicy and medicinal phenols with tropical fruit, yeast and sweet honey like malt. It also has a light touch of funky earthy hops. On the tongue there is a tasty mix of all the spicy/medicinal and yeast notes with some tropical fruit and honey sweetness. The funky and sweet notes are tempered with a good balance of earthy dry hop spice and bitterness. With its medium to full body I get a slightly different mix of flavor notes each time. The texture is kind of smooth and dry with a nice level of carbonation.

Poured from a bottle 1.5 years old. Smells like a Belgian Ale, with a slight hop note. Pours a dark gold colour, and very cloudy. Yeast and sediment clearly visible. Head forms but dissapears almost instantly. First sip has just a slight sourness to it, but turns to a sweet Belgian le taste. Not too sweet. Great amount of carbonation. No aftertaste. Overall one of the better beers Ive had. Will look for this again in the fall.
The Beer "Bear"on UXO (1896) - CANADA - JUL 18, 2014
Pours a cloudy copper with a ridiculously unmanageable head, requiring ten or fifteen minutes to tame to three or four pillowy fingers, great retention and heavy lacing. Nose is dominated by brett, with a distinct sour edge, against stone fruit and caramel malt. Taste starts out sweet, but moves quickly to sour, with a lingering sour and bitter finish. Mouth feel is slightly heavy, with lower than expected carbonation.
Oh, that’s nice. That’s very nice. Mildly funky and sour, with just enough brett to be interesting, but not overwhelming. Loads of character, with a gentle warming as the bottle progresses. Tricker (413) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 3, 2015
Bière blonde de 7 % d’alcool. Elle possède un petit col mousseux au versement Elle possède un odorat sucré, légèrement citronné. Elle possède un bon goût d’épices, légèrement sucré, tendance à croire même à un goût de melon d’eau. Excellente !
