Red with a whitish foam. Light toast aroma, caramel. Taste is sweet, caramel, toast, bready, dry. BigBeer45 (1532) - Michigan, USA - DEC 27, 2009
has a mostly clear red-ruby pour (it looks to have a little haze) with white and slight off-white bubbled one finger head that depletes to a ring and swirlies for a cover, left good lacing on the glass,
aromas of toasted malt, earthy scents, dark caramel, toasted Rye, faint spice and chocolate in the background,
flavors of toasted malt, caramel, hints of chocolate, has a dry toasted flavor I sense in Rye Beers, also, the Rye appears to give a sharpness or accentuate the bitterness of the hops,
nice and gentle hop bite,
less than medium mouth feel with a nice carbonation on the palate,
another nice Goose Island drink.

Medium-deep orange-brown body, thin, clumping buff head. Toasty nose with brown sugar and grapes, tart. Toasty malt body with brown sugar and red grape notes, finishing bitter and leafy. Creamy, rich, and quaffable. Pour two at a time. slitcher (267) - Freeport, Illinois, USA - DEC 26, 2009
Pours an amber brown with a thick off-white head. Aromas of rye bread and caramel. Spicy flavor up front from the rye with a long dry finish. A very nice sesion ale. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 26, 2009

Bottle. Nice Christmas in a glass look -- rich and deeply red with a solid head. The aroma is bountiful, rife with robust malt and a hint of winter spice. But this drinks quite evenly, without abashedness, certainly sessionable for th Noel season. (#3774, 12/25/2009) Ungstrup (37655) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2009
Bottled. An amber beer with a huge light tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, rye, and bread. The flavor is sweet with caramel, rye, bread, and malt, leading to a dry bready finish. Acknud (1081) - Morganfield, Kentucky, USA - DEC 22, 2009
Murky red color with frothy white head. Mine had some particulate matter in there as well. I was worried about it at first since no one else has mentioned it but then I took a drink and it was pretty good. Even balanced malt and hops. Nice session beer. scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - DEC 21, 2009
12oz – The Perfect Pour. Dark copper, thick creamy off white head. Soft toasted toffee and earth aromas ride a light citric undercurrent. Nice balance as dried citrus and nutty earth flavors warm to a spicy rye and toasted caramel conclusion. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, lightly bittersweet finish. Surprisingly, this was very flavorful for a mild. Makes for a nice session brew on a cold snowy day… guzzler67 (1696) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - DEC 20, 2009
Clear, reddish brown appearance with a small, off white head and good lacing. Sweet aroma of toffee and caramel. Noticable, but unobtrusive, rye flavor along with toasted malts. Spicy hops add an extra dimension to the taste and bitterness to the aftertaste. Medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel. A good session beer.
