Great medium-body and head. Has a brown-orange color, smells of caramel, rye, and slight vanilla. The combination of a medium hop and peppery spices gives it a little bite that tingles the palate. A cool, refreshing drink that warms you up in the sub-zero temperatures

WisconsinBeer (716) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - JAN 22, 2009
Pours a mild brownish orange color with a lingering foamy head. Flavor is soft toast, hints of rye bread, hints of yule spice and a dry grassy hop finish. Soft on the palate, somewhat warming in the stomach due to the spice. Medium carbonation. Well done, solid winter session ale.

Tripplebrew (778) - Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA - JAN 22, 2009
Pours a clear reddish brown with thin tan colored head. Aroma is caramel malts and grass. Flavor is bland. some notes of caramel and earthy flavors but nothing incredibly distinct. Bready/biscuit notes are present. Body is light with fair carbonation. Far from anything impressive.

Skyview (6021) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JAN 22, 2009
Sampled during Cellar’s Wine & Spirits Wednesday evening beer tasting, Pours a clear light copper amber brew with an average off-white head that has some nice retention and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, a hint of cloves, rye, some chocolate and flowery hops. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of caramel malt, some bready biscuits, flowery hops and a hint of cloves. Finish is semi-dry and has a light bitterness with a caramel and clove aftertaste.

Crushed with Jakebra. Hmmm... poopy. Not good. Wonderfully mild and boring, and also tastes bad and is completely useless.

Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 19, 2009
Bottle courtesy of CanIhave4beers. Pours brown with a thin white head. Smells of rye, roses, some earthy hops. Tastes sweet with some nice rye elements and a hint of bitterness on the finish. This would definitely be one of my go to beers this time of the year if I had access.

fraternie (1011) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 18, 2009
Warm, malty aromas with notes of clove and wintery spice. Medium-bodied with rich roasted caramel malts, grain, hints of clove and vanilla. A present grip of hops lingers through the medium finish.

IlanMan (1015) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 17, 2009
Bottle. Pour was medium to light brown with a light tan head. Aroma was of light spice, a hint of cloves, and medium malt. Another medium malt flavor with light spice and a light hop finish. Good brew. Not a mild, though.

Rynoplasty (700) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JAN 14, 2009
Pours reddish brown with a decent off white head. Aroma is light, but malty. Flavor is roasted and light malts with a very slight bitterness. Not bad.

wheninhell (488) - chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 9, 2009
crystal clear copper body with a great lasting off white head that leaves beautiful lacing. Solid toffee aroma with a hint of vanilla and just a bit of orange brightness. Bittersweet caramel vanilla raisin flavor with some spicy pine and a hint of orange. long balanced bittersweet toffee/caramel raisin orange finish lingering dry spicy pine and tart raisin. light to medium body. at first seems like an fairly uninteresting session beer but when you really give it some thought it becomes quite complex.
