Hazy dark deep ruby brown, with a small light khaki head. Nose of earthy toffee, syrupy malt grains, raisin, and a little brown sugar. Flavor was nice and dark with a light spicy bitterness not unlike nutmeg and mulling spices, but it doesnt taste like a winter warmer in that way...just a mild bitterness akin to it. Most of the flavor is dominated by a syrupy dark malt sweetness, with some rye bread, molasses, earthy toffee, and a hint of raisin.

On tap at Goose Clybourn. Poured medium reddish-brown with a creamy cap of beige head. The aroma was light and sweeter with caramel on the front and more vegetal-"inspired" notes toward the back.. spicage was mild and I didn’t pick up any rye in the nose.. grassy and hay accents. The flavor found sweet caramel and lighter fruity notes surrounded by a touch of rye, black pepper, and brighter wheaty notes.. organic feel on the finish.. didn’t like it so much. Lighter-bodied-plus with too much carbonation and too little emphasis on the rye.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark amber to medium brown. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, toasted grain), with notes of grape juice, cinnamon, dirt. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium to full body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Cheap and clunky smelling, kinda dump bucket-like. Somewhat dirty aftertaste as well. Not very enjoyable.

Biggish offwhite head. Deep brown body. Deep earthy malty aroma with peanuts and straw notes. Vivid and clear. Dry-sweetish strawy grainy earthy caramel taste with chocolatey notes. Rounded, smoothish mouthfeel. Fullish body. Dryish earthy roasty peas and wood aftertaste with caramelly notes. Excellent! (0.355l bottle, ?, CPH.)
