Bottle. Black. Small but very dark brown head that settles quickly to three bubbles. Aroma of brandy, dilute coffee, dark Hershey bar, prune. Thick and chewy, almost solid. Taste starts with dark cocoa and progresses to port, smoke, peat, raisins. As it warms, the hops really come through in the finish, without overwhelming the complexities of the stout itself. Rich stuff.

omhper (25258) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - NOV 30, 2010
Bottled at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm. Completely black with rich creamy beige head. Aroma of chocolate and tobacco. Very sweet with full body and soft mouthfeel. Intense chocolate and coffee, lots of sugar. Thick and syrupy, the powerful sweetness collides with bitterness into a sweet, inky sensation. Somehow reminiscent of a (more bitter) port, but with chocolate and coffee flavours.

Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 23, 2011
Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a pitch black with a light brown head. Sweet hard roast and vanilla in the nose. Solid body, hard roast, dark fruit, medicinal with a distinct hoppiness. The finish is a bit boozy but it doesn’t spoil a great beer. 230311
