Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a pitch black with a light brown head. Sweet hard roast and vanilla in the nose. Solid body, hard roast, dark fruit, medicinal with a distinct hoppiness. The finish is a bit boozy but it doesn’t spoil a great beer. 230311 Leighton (22327) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 15, 2013
Bottle shared at CBC - Clerkenwell, London - another big one from Seth! Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Dark malt nose with burnt marshmallow and milk chocolate. Big sweet flavor, some dark malts, moderate roast, big alcohol, burnt sugars, some dark fruits, raisins and licorice. Full bodied with average to high, creamy carbonation. A bit of heat on the finish, more dark sugars, decent roast, robust earthy bitterness. It’s fairly hot. Very good, but not outstanding. Rasmus40 (21990) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - MAR 6, 2011
Black with a dark brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, sugar and hoppy. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Finishes bitter and with warming alcohol. Full bodied and oily. Just like the Bourbon County Stout this i too sweet and too alcoholic, though not as rough. Still a great beer though. 050311 Koelschtrinker (21492) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - DEC 22, 2016

Bottle at ChrisO "I’m Trying to see the Stool" pre GBBF2010 tasting. Black, tan head. Oily espresso, rich dark choc aroma. Pretty good. Bit of heat. Good though. mcberko (18998) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 12, 2011
22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is incredibly complex, with the hops and pronounced dark roasted notes upfront, with many different subtleties such as licorice, deeply roasted espresso, caramel, toffee, dark fruits and wood. Flavour is no less dense - this is truly fantastic. Very darkly roasted malt and dark espresso begin, with complex notes of caramel, dark fruits, wood and licorice layered into this deep, dark, dense body, with a huge blast of hops that comes in toward the end and lingers wonderfully. Palate is quite oily, silky, velvety, etc. and quite viscous. This is outstanding. rlgk (18844) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 20, 2012

Dark opaque black color, tiny brownish head. Aroma has coffee, wood and alcohol. Medium bodied. Lots of dark malts, rye bread, wood, and punch of alcohol. Sticky. It feels like aged in oak. Quite simple although somewhat tasty.
