2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
I have to drink one more bottle of this from the sampler I bought, and then I’m done. Pours dark black, looks like cola, until the tan head fizzles, never to return. Looks like flat cola as you drink it, with an aroma of burnt something. Tastes like burnt coffee with chalky cocoa in it. Finish is oddly sweet, and overall it made me think of chocolate oatmeal.
Poured from bottle thanks Eddie chocolate with a tan creamy head. Aromas of roasted chocolate malt vanilla notes. Taste is creamy but slightly thin due to the oatmeal. Easy to drink. Finhead (1860) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - DEC 3, 2017
Dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma has coffee and dark chocolate. It has a full body with smooth texture and average carbonation. The taste is mildly bitter and roasted with a somewhat quick finish. damzz (546) - Massachusetts, USA - DEC 3, 2017

Bottle. Pours opaque dark brown with large spongy tan head, sweetish mocha aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter mocha taste with oats sweetness seeping in later on, smooth body, long mildly bitter mocha finish. Smooth and mellow. Bebum (1147) - Massachusetts, USA - OCT 21, 2017
Opaque, fine mousse with cafe-au-lait color.
Distinguishes itself by an aromatic nose of chocolate.
Medium body, flavorful, silky texture, low heat but nice carbonation, good length, subtle, tasty finish.
Assertive but simple roast flavors, chocolate, dark roast coffee.
Very enjoyable everyday beer, even though not a powerful stout like the ones I prefer.

Backlog rating from 2007. Bottle from Old Town. Chocolate and coffee aromas with some light toffee. Creamy mouthfeel with some sweetness.Has some light roasted flavor on the palate. Easy drinking but surprisingly full-flavored for the ABV. Not bad. Christpuncher (3215) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 28, 2015

12 oz bottle shared by Spencer. The pour is a decently medium black with some ruby hints poking through and a decent tan head with a decent lace. The aroma is surprisingly good. Really roasty and a lot of chocolate. The pats really come through on the back end. The flavor is much more relaxed as you'd expect for a 5.5% sweet stout. There is a strong chocolate and roast presence. The mouth feel is excellent and creamy. Nice. The aftertaste is a little roasty and light. I'm a fan of this good stout

The body has a very dark black colored body that blocks out the light. A light tan head caps off this opaque brew. From the pour I got a good two fingers of thick foam that slowly fades to a much thinner as I drink. It does hang on to the end and along the way it leaves some lace on the glass. In the nose there is a mix of bittersweet dark and roast malts with very light hops underneath. The flavor is full of delicious dark roasted goodies. There is a nice play between bitter sweet dark chocolate, caramel like notes and mild hop bitterness. It’s a just a little bit light on the palate but smooth and easy drinking
