COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the traditional Märzen style our Oktoberfest pours a brilliant copper over rose color with a bone white head. Notes of toffee and burnt sugar in the aroma and flavors of sweet dried apricots are delivered in a dry malty body with the mild earthy bitterness that is the hallmark of Hallertau hops.

This is the new recipe bottled by AB-InBev. Old entries for the earlier bottled and Brewpub version are located here: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/goose-island-oktoberfest-brewpub-recipe/6808/

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2017 Pours amber orange, head quickly disappears. Very fine fizz feel in mouth, bubbles not visible in glass. Faint aroma, caramel hints. Taste rather sour, some spiciness. Nothing exceptional, in direction of an Oktoberfest beer, but not really there. OK

Pours brownish amber with a small white head. Aroma is earthy, toffee, caramel and some spiciness. Taste is sweet with some spicy undertones. Medium bodied, smooth and overall a decent brew for game at MetLife.

Sweet and malty. Light toffee and apricot notes as the Brewer claims. Smooth with no hop bitterness at all. A spicy dry finish with notes of toast. Interesting. Not a standard Oktoberfest but I liked it September 2015 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This toffee and burnt sugar aromatic beer is malty and a little bitter but the notes of apricot definitely give it an interesting taste. The high level of the alcohol content (6.4%) makes it a good beer to be paired with either meatballs, chili or some traditional German food.

Sweet , malty , toffee tones. No hops or bitterness at all. From a beer hawk mystery case. On reflection , not as good as my first bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Darker orange color. Very clear. Toasted notes in the aroma. Bready nose. No hops. Definitely sweet; candied. Malty flavor. Finish fades quickly. Slight fruitiness. Not a bad beer, if only slightly out of style.

Bottle, 355ml. Clear sparkling maple, frothy tan head. Metallic, grainy aromas. Medium bodied, fizzy carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet, lightly bitter. Sweet roasted and toffee flavors into a rustic, sticky finish.

This was a very sweet beer and, dare I say it, a bit one dimensional. I felt that the caramel was too strong and overpowered everything else.
