COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the traditional Märzen style our Oktoberfest pours a brilliant copper over rose color with a bone white head. Notes of toffee and burnt sugar in the aroma and flavors of sweet dried apricots are delivered in a dry malty body with the mild earthy bitterness that is the hallmark of Hallertau hops.

This is the new recipe bottled by AB-InBev. Old entries for the earlier bottled and Brewpub version are located here: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/goose-island-oktoberfest-brewpub-recipe/6808/

Pours deep caramel-copper into the glass, clear with a fizzy white head that diminishes with each pull to no lace of which to speak. The nose is of caramel and light spices. Nice caramel and toffee sweetness and met with light pie spices in the finish, closing spicy. The body is medium with a round mouthfeel and appropriate carbonation semi-zest to the palate, as to make a very nice quaff for this Märzen. All-in-all, a nice Oktoberfest... malty, perfect for the season. Good job.

12 oz bottle. The beer poured a clear amber color with an off white and lacing. The beer had sweet caramel malts on the nose. The balanced Marzen beer had a medium body with average carbonation. This is easy to drink Octoberfest with a smooth clean finish malt aroma. Nice beer.
