Amber. Toasty aroma with a hint of chocolate and minerals. Vague caramel and toast. Uneventful. A real letdown given the authenticity of most of their brews. DSG (14685) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - OCT 18, 2008
(10/9/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Clybourn, Chicago. Hazy amber color. Aroma of malt, a bit of caramel and light citric notes. Sweet malty flavor with some toastiness, fruity hints and a slightly bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Not great but quaffable and enjoyable. imdownthepub (14468) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2009
Bottled, 355ml from Westholme Stores, Goring, Oxon. Orange amber with slight white head. Heavy caramel body, clinging toffee notes, seemingly a little over processed leading to a boiled herby flavour. Most odd and unfortunate. A pretty poor Oktoberfest beer. Draft at Party Source Cigar tasting. Copper color with a large head that diminished slowly. Good roasted malt aroma. Medium body. Very good well balanced flavor with a good bitter sweet finish of long duration. Very good brew. Dogbrick (12932) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 14, 2011
Sample at the Clybourn brewpub. The beer is a clear orange-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt and mild hops. Light to medium body with flavors of malt, sweet caramel and toffee, and herbal hops. The finish is sweet and malty. Slightly above average overall.

Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 5/10; Flavor: 6/10; Palate: 5/10; Overall: 13/20
The score was calculated based upon the notes and an old scoring system.
Tap. Copper pour, minimal head. Toffee, caramel, and malt on the nose. Taste was slightly sweet and malty. Pretty good brew. jercraigs (10303) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 17, 2003
Amber colour, small thin white head. Sweet malty aroma. Bit of malt and bitterness for the taste buds. Meh… Unexciting. JorisPPattyn (9928) - Ursel, BELGIUM - OCT 2, 2003
(draught) Huge head, yellow; orange to light amber beer. Nose is grainy, a bit nutty too. Taste is refreshing, a bit citrussy, and very malty. However, it has an outspoken top-fermenting character, with fusels apparent! Slick, rather full mouthfeel. This does not fit the German idea of Oktoberfest/Märzen at all. drowland (8629) - Georgia, USA - AUG 24, 2009
Another solid American version that doesn’t totally impress, but is quite nice during the season.
