@CBC–on tap-pours a light tan head with dark amber color. Aroma is sweet medium malt, wood/bourbon. Taste follows, with some citrus and boozy notes. Syrupy mouthfeel. smooth. danielcurtis81 (1519) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 13, 2009
On tap at HopCat. Pours a solid flat red/brown with no real head. The aromas and flavors follow each other nicely with fruity sherry, bourbon, caramel, prune and hints of barrel.
A very tasty beer that is a little on the hot side and would be even more fabulous with a little age on it. Steve that chief beer geek took good care of us and explained how this was brewed using Sherry yeast and then aged in the high end Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels. Thanks for everything Steve! Excellent! awiseman01 (469) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - SEP 11, 2009
Dan’s Bachelor Party Extended Weekend Rating #57 of 90. On tap at HopCat in Grand Rapids. Pours amber/brown. WHOA! Nice strong sherry nose on top of malts. Excellent sherry flavor, smooth taste, sweet and complex. This was late in the day, but clearly my favorite from Saturday. SO glad I got some.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2009 On tap at Hopcat. Pours a dark red brown with a small off white head. Aroma is very pungent dark fruit, molasses, raisins, plums, plenty of that sweet barrel effect with an amazing vanilla and sweet toasty character. Flavor is so damn good, a cornucopia of character. Vanilla, bourbon, almond nuttiness, dark fruits, prunes, alcohol, burnt caramel all melded together perfectly. Full creamy body and a soft but nicely tingling carbonation. What an amazing beer, so well balanced and such character. Reminds me a lot of Flossmoor Stations Wooden Hell, amazing. Thanks to my buddy Phil Wymore for brewing this on a whim one day! On tap at the hopcat in Grand Rapids, MI. Murky reddish pour. Aroma of oak, vanilla, caramel, fruit with a bit of alcohol. Flavor is hoppy, bourbony. Pretty thick body. Kind of a ridiculous bad ass beer from goose island. xnoxhatex (1305) - Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA - AUG 26, 2009
On tap at the hopcat, Grand Rapids, MI. Hazy/murky red brown with small head and large bubbles. Aroma is very barrel forward with vanilla, ac, lots of juicy barley wine like malt profile and red fruit. Flavor is also very juicy with grapefruit and alc, bourbon, vanilla, some cherry, lots of citrus. Body is slighty hot with medium slightly syrupy body. Smells and tastes amazing, man is this beer doing great. This beer is FOBAB in a glass for me. bdigital (659) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 23, 2009
Draft @ Hopcat in GR...pour was a very dark amber with a cream/tan head. Nose was ridiculous, once you get past the ethyl notes there was a tremendous amount of complexity to this...notes of dark fruits, vanilla bean, oak, caramel and bourbon. Like those before me have said, a bit hot right now but wow does this have potential. Flavor was mostly barrel with some fruity notes and caramel coming through as well. Hopcat had this listed @ 15% ABV, so I’m not sure what it actually is. 17thfloor (2444) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 23, 2009
this is near god-like... the December ratings make sense... a little too hot... but as of right now... this is cosmically the best of BEER and BOURBON in one delicious package.
