12 oz bottle. Pours a rather murky looking brown colored body with alot of very fine floaties. Head was fairly small, off-white, fizzy, and faded quickly. Aroma is very sweet and loaded with fruity esters. A combo of banana, macintosh apples, chocolate, figs, light alcohol, yeast, and overripe cherries. Flavor is intense fruitiness, yeast, and alcohol most prominantly. Finishes slightly sweet with some yeast and a good dose of bananas. Mouthfeel is classicly Belgian in nature. Medium to full bodied with a slightly sticky texture and fizzy active carbonation. A nice fruity yeasty Belgian. Comes off as more of a Dubbel more than a Belgian Strong to me.
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2018 Bottle. It poured a murky reddish brown with a thin tan head. Its aroma is caramel, bready, Belgian yeast, plum and raisins. The taste is slightly sweet. Overall, it is a little boozy and warming. ibrubeer (426) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - DEC 29, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2017 Bottled on 101505. Old bottle. Aroma is nice, plum, raisin. Color is chestnut, no head (old bottle), reddish tint, clear. Really nice flavor though! Very reminiscent of a port...plum, raisins, caramel, a little bready. Smooth. Med body, but still a little lively. Awesome beer! I hope I still have another one in the cellar! Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! 2008 Vintage. A clear orange brown beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. aroma of dark riped fruits, caramel, oxidized fruits. Taste of dark caramelish malt, riped fruits, raisins, toffee, some wood, good! Erzengel (9760) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - AUG 30, 2017

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2017 2009 bottle from McHughs. Bought this a while ago. Might be the oldest beer I?ve had. Pours reddish brown with tan head which disappears. Lots of raisin, Christmas cake, cinnamon, chocolate, soft leather on nose. Smooth sweet date, raisin, cake, some raspberry in flavour. Short wood, earth slight cocoa finish. Delicious beer and a real treat.

Fairly malty. Lovely deep amber color. Noticeable Belgian yeast funk going on. Not unpleasant, though. Complex and some subtle spice. GlennHendry (529) - OSHAWA, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 8, 2017
Complex and tasty. Spices, dark fruits, dark fruits, and brown sugar. Smooth with a full body. thepatrickman (1503) - Lewes, East Sussex, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2017
Bottle at a share. An excellent example of a really under-brewed style. This nails the sweet, raisin malt and Belgian yeast interplay of some of the best dubbels. Complex and heavy, but worth sipping slowly on a cold night. markducommun (1231) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 11, 2016
Bottled 1/14/13, consumed 9/11/16.
Cloudy light mahogany, minimal tan head. Nose of deep molasses, raisin, allspice. Dark fruitiness. Lightly bitter, spicy. Muted, mellow sweetness. Medium to heavy body, creamy, smooth mouthfeel. Long finish. Everything blends together beautifully. Undertone of alcoholic sharpness. This aged remarkably well. Excellent. geologyguy (1687) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - AUG 12, 2016
