An excellent Czech -styled pilsner with a mildy nutty malt backing and crisp continental hop character. Great balance. Love the mild malty fade. Pours crystal clear light amber with a sticky large white head. Oodles of lace.

Pours a typical golden yellow color with a malt corn aroma. Taste is light, crisp, with a very minimal malt backbone. A crisp, easy drinking beer, true to the style. Nice low ABV that lends to a nice smooth drinking pilsener.

Can. On a United flight. This is a decent little brew and the best you are going to find on a plane.

On tap, poured into a shaker. The aroma is rocky with some pastry dough and a light toffee touch. The appearance is clear and pale-gold with a mild, soft head that has okay retention and mild lace. The flavor is a muted, medium sweet and a medium light bitter. The texture is thin with a fuzzy carbonation and a medium light body. The profile is buttery with notes of bread and a mild, bitter spice. The finish is spicy and has a rock-like note to it - like a dry, muted mineral tone. The aftertaste has a light tone of minerals and bread toast.

On tap at GI (late 2011) described as a Czech style pils. Pours a hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma has grassy hop notes pale malts with some herbal character. The flavor is grassy, light citrus, pale malt., lightly herbal, clean, crisp, and decent for what it is.

On draft at brewpub, poured a light golden yellow color, aromas of hay, light sweet malt, and some grass. Flavors are the same, light on the palate, decent beer overall.

Enjoyed on tap at Goose Island Wrigleyville while hanging out with some friends before going to see the band Afghan Whigs. I didn’t take notes on this one, but remember it being pretty good and well balanced between crisp malts and very lightly bitter hops. Nothing re-inventing the wheel but great for the style.

Draft in sampler at the Clybourn brewpub. Pours a clear gold color with a small white head. Notes of grass, straw, and sweet and pils malts. Light-bodied, with a malty mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Crisp all the way through, but not as clean as a better pils because the malt lingers for so long.

Strykzone (7358) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - APR 29, 2012
Sampled at Clybourn brewpub. Clear gold. Definite eastern european hops are forward. Light sulphur effects help make for a dry beer. Light fruit adds nicely. Authentic.

Druaght at Goose Island Clybourn, Chiciago. Clear yellow - white head. Hay, straw, nic grainy, grassy, ok hoppy, ok bitterness, light egg. Pleasant.
