Sample at Clybourn as Golden Goose. Clear yellow pour with a medium white head. Malty nose with some crisp hop. Mostly malty flavor with a bit of crisp hop. Good represenation of a style that’s just not my favorite. 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 7, 2010
Clybourn. Clear light golden fine frothy fizzy white head. Aroma fruity metallic noble typical goose malt flour taste. Flavor follows metallic strong strong malt flour very goose, some lager kick in the finish. Medium bodied watery. Medium bitterness, some apple tartness lightly fruity. GABF 09 as Golden Goose Pils. Pours a light clean golden with a thin white head. Aroma is cracker pils malt, light breadiness, toast, green grassy hops- slight butter or off DMS. Flavor is slight slick diacetyl when it warms, toast, cracker pils, crisp and clean in the end with a nice herbal and spicy hop bitterness- slight citrus hint comes as well when it warms. pretty good overall but not great. Tap at the brewpub (Clybourn location): Light golden pour with a white consistent film. Crackery dry pils aroma- yet it has a touch of diacetyl. Light crisp refreshing body. Has a fresh clean flavor with only a touch of sweetness- more crackery pils and zesty lemon peel and mild peppery saaz hop notes in the finish. Pretty solid pils, minus the buttery aromatics. Cask at GI Clybourn, served in an English pint. Hazy golden pour with a soapy head of off-white foam that lingered for a bit. Some light lace was left around the glass. The aroma had a light sweetness and also some herbal noble hop notes. The flavor was smooth. Mildly sweet pilsner malt kissed by some faint noble hops. A little bready. Medium-bodied with very mild carbonation. I probably would have prefered the tap version for this particular style. Okay.

Draft at Clybourn. Poured a clear yellow gold color with a white cap. The aroma was subdued overall with whiffs of fresh baked salty pretzel, noble hop, and cereal grain. Light to medium bodied and delicately sweet with minimal bitterness that faded quickly. tasted of fresh cereal grain and noble hops. kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - MAR 23, 2009
Draught from Clybourn 03/20/2009. Nice grassy noble hops aroma with some fruity malty notes. Clear straw golden with a moderate foamy white head that leaves nice lacing all around the glass. Flavor is dry quite bitter in the finish from the hops, lingers potently. Sweet overtones differentiate this from a quintessential Pilsner. Medium bodied with a nice carbonation. Bottle from the 20th Anniversary Collection, listed as Golden Goose Pilsner. Pours a relatively clear gold with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor of malt, some spice, and citrus. It is a good Pils, but obviously there is only so much you can do with the style. BeerBunker (965) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - DEC 19, 2008
On tap at GI Clybourn. Pours a murky golden color with minimal white head. Aroma is of malt, yeast, spice and citrus. Taste is very malty, with spice, citrus, and a very nice hop sweetness. Very light, and crisp mouthfeel. Nothing fantastic, but a very good pilsner. drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 14, 2008
