Clear yellow, white clinging head. Mild aromas, biscuity, decent malts. Citrus undercurrent, grassy, with a quick-hitting bitterness. Moderately astringent, hitting and lasting. Moderate carbonation. The bitterness really made an impression. (on tap at Clybourn location) FlacoAlto (4234) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - AUG 5, 2004

The beer is a brilliant straw color with a thin off-white head. It has a clean spicy aroma of noble hops. The taste is smooth and creamy with a nice hop bite in the finish. This has a really nice hop flavor to it, slightly herbal and a little bit grassy. This is a well crafted Pilsner, very clean and a great beer to quaff.
Clear golden color with slight head. Yeasty aroma. Grassy flavor with some hops but a decent malt backbone. Okay pils. SubstanceT (1092) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 18, 2004
Clear golden with a thin quickly discipating white head. The nose is grassy with just a bit of hops. The taste is sharp almost skunky but not in a skunky offensive way fairly grassy. Easily drinkable and thin. Not bad, one of the better pils that I have had. jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - JUL 3, 2004
Pours a clear gold with a thick white head. Nice grassy herbal aroma. Taste is a nice pilsnery malt/grain/grass fest. Great saaz presence in this brew. Perfect sweetness. Mouthfeel is very full, round and creamy while still being on the lighter side. Extremely drinkable. Great pils, recommended.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2004 rather skunky and sour-smelling, but it’s got the typical saaz-like hoppiness for the style. extremely pale yellow with a short-lived foamy head. very refreshing and tangy bite, but leaves a little too much residual bitterness. good for a summer day but not a great beer. hotstuff (5279) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 6, 2004
Bottle. Small sized white head and fine-small sized bubbles that quickly dissipated. Carbonated, mostly transparent and a pale yellow hue. Malty, hoppy and somewhat of a skunky aroma. Flavor was somewhat astringent, malty and mild hops. Palate was tingly. Light-medium bodied beer with no lacing. Decent pils. thedm (6320) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 5, 2004
This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of fine to medium sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body was a slightly hazy transparent softly carbonated weak yellow orange color. The aroma was malty pilsnerish and slightly skunky. The mouth feel was tart mildly tingly initially then settled into a slightly astringent mild hop finish. The flavors contained notes of malt hops and bread. It was an extremely hot day and I was looking for some thing to cool me off. I thought a cold pils would do the trick, but it did not do the trick for me on this hot summers day. warrior (213) - Mt. Saaz hop aroma with some malt background. Clear light golden color with a decent white head. Nice hop flavor with some good bread type malt flavors in the finish. I would like to have had more hop flavor in a czech style pils, it was missing that clean crisp hop flavor and bite. Still a good overall pils. UPDATED: APR 2, 2012 Re-rate. Beer is really quite nice and soft, refreshing. Good bitterness level and clean. Lacks overall hop character, but a very nice beer to drink.
5/4/4 hazy gold, color of Mtn. Dew. Light smell, grass? and hops. interesting, yet simple taste of malt followed by hops. Average, though good for a pilsener or other lager...6/4/6/2/10
