draft, pours hazedb yellow with white head nose hay honey spicy lavender flavors have honey pepper dry finish really refreshing not much saison yeast character, more like golden ale but tasty TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2011
Draft on tap at Acre GI Invasion event (Chicago, IL). Pours a hazy golden hue, moderate brighter white head cakes decent sized, laces ok. Aromas are a touch spicy, bread dough and touches of yeast, bread dough, some light fruity esters of pear, apple. Light spicy peppercorn is gentle. Initial is an effervescent carbonation, gentle pink mellow peppercorn, yeasty bread dough, light fruitiness into the backend shows apple, pear. Very gentle, a pretty big bubbly carbonation on the palate lightens this up considerably. Gentle with almost a tart tangy juice quality, light spice is mellow, lingers (more of a gentle pepper and not yeasty). Not bad, pretty big carbonation. Juicy fruity apple juice. Not bad, different, sweeter though. Very light bodied and fizzy carbonation. Almost a touch tart, peppercorns are subtle and not really a huge factor.
