Sample at Clybourn. Pours clear red with a medium beige head. Caramel malt and dank hop nose with a bit of diacetyl. Buttery caramel flavor with some fruit and a semi-sweet finish. beernbourbon (1593) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - JAN 7, 2010
Draught at Clybourn. Pour is cloudy brown with medium beige head. Aroma is hoppy, spicy, and malty. Not too many frills, just solid hop and malt. Flavor is very well balanced with a nice sweet malt and well balanced hop character. It’s not out of the ordinary, but a solid and balanced hoppy experience. burica2020 (22) - Tinley Park, Illinois, USA - DEC 30, 2009
Amber Color with light white head. Somewhat malty but great hop/honey/floral flavor. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 29, 2009

Cask at Clybourn. Poured a clear dark orange color with a thick, creamy of white head that left a curtain of lace behind on the glass. The aroma was subdued overall with whiffs of pine and toasted bread. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with notes of citrusy hops, toffee, and subdued caramel.

Tap at Goose Island Clybourn. Semi-hazy dark amber pour, huge white head. Sweet nose, taste was sweet and bitter, some caramel, and grape kool-aid notes. Decent brew. JPDIPSO (6236) - Wauwatosa, USA - SEP 30, 2009
Bronze to copper in color with a modest off-white head. Floor malt, light honey, toffee and floral hops. Pale malt, slightly sticky feel, and plenty of floral hops in the front and into the middle. Some minerals come into play in the finish. Full flavors all the way through with malt and hops swinging to and fro. A fine example of and english strong. On tap: Nice coppery hue with a foamy off-white head which produced outstanding sticky lace. Notes of fresh Goldings hops comes through on the nose along with biscuity Maris Otter and caramel toffee vapours. Slightly hop spicy esters also detected as it warmed. The taste has a crisp hoppy front with a very balanced malty background. Astrengent and minerally finish. Lively and aggressive mouth fell with a chalky finish. Outstanding big bitter, Mikey Likey! jmw141 (134) - Canton, Illinois, USA - JAN 28, 2009
Draft at Goose Island Clybourn. 5 oz tatser glass. My first "real ale" cask. Listed as an "Imperial Bitter." Pours a honey color, with a very floral nose. It is almost like a flower garden. Certainly can smell the alcohol. Detergent and hops in the mouth. Not too bitter. Served warm and it’s flat. Maybe all casks are like this. tjthresh (1873) - Greenfield, Indiana, USA - DEC 29, 2008
Growler from Mike. Pours sort of a muddy brown/red witha bit of white head. Strong eathy and herbal hop nose with a good dose toasted and biscuit malt. There’s a bunch a herbal hop bitter goodness here. Very yummy. Medium easy drinking body. Dry bitter finish. Much better than expected.
