On tap into a 4oz tasting tulip...Translucent amber with very light carbonation...An aroma of sweet vanilla bourbon dominates, but you get a light brown all characters of roasted nuts on the back...The taste is a brown ale version of bcs, think about it and you’ve got it. Its not bad at all, but its super sweet bourbon comes through too much. This needs some time to age and smooth out.
If you want a lighter bcs try to find this. Good not great, needs some work. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUN 9, 2010
draft at Goose Island Clybourne. Darker brown pour, agressive aroma of rich malts, rye whiskey, light vanilla. taste was malty rich, cut down with the rye, light to medium wood. pretty boozy, a sipper but loads of flavor. 12 noon may have been a bit early for this & the Bourbon Wheatmiser pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 6, 2010
Draft poured into a snifter at gi brewpub...pours a dark mostly opaque chocolate cola brown with softer edges... Aroma of smooth caramel and vanilla with bourbon notes even though made with rye whiskey. A little booze comes through as it warms, dark fruit and toffee as well... Flavors are assertive and a little warm with the initial sip but the dry spiciness quickly mutes it. Sweeter at the onset, through the middle, but doesn’t finish as such and def not cloyingly so. Thin to medium bodied a bit hot but a nice sipper. drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 6, 2010
