On tap at Goose Island Clybourn. Poured medium sunset orange with a short-lived cap of eggshell head. The aroma was quite sour with light fruit skins leading.. peppery yeast and orange zest surrounded.. floral accents.. OK components, but almost totally overrun by the sourness. The flavor had sour apricot and orange zest all over the place, leaving a bit of an oxidized impression on the finish.. pale base with a little light fruity sweetness.. dry, hay-like bitterness around the tongue.. tasted old, and not in a good way. Medium-bodied on the palate and off-balance from the sour notes.. somehow finished sweet.. something was wrong here. Maverick34 (3305) - New York, USA - NOV 27, 2008
Draft. A nice orange, light feel but a bit to watery for a saison in my opinion. Needs more substance? BeerBunker (966) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - NOV 20, 2008
Draft at GI Clybourn. Pours dark orange with minimal white head. Aroma is of malt, spice, bread, candi sugars, and yeast. Taste is a very sweet spiciness, with a tasty malt backbone. Notes of candi sugars, citrus, hops, cinnamon, and yeadt. Very light mouthfeel. Finish is all sugar and yeast. Not a bad beer. decoman (8) - , Illinois, USA - NOV 2, 2008 does not count
On Tap at Cly nice cool, well rounded and tasty, had some spice to it I didn’t try last years so can’t compare but enjoyed this one. NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 1, 2008
Draft to Clyboun. Pour is gold with some red. This definitely is different from last time it was had by me. Nose is of spicy hops, earth, slightly phenolic with bananas. Has some grainy spice, slight citric attributes and nice spicey hops. Not the best saison they’ve done, but definitely very refreshing and drinkable. Finish is quite dry. Nice.

tap at GI Cly....pours a hazy apple cider brown with a thin soapy white head.... aroma of pears and oranges in the nost. not spiced which other american saisons seem to emphasize which is nice... flavors of fruit and citrus, earthy mouthfeel, that remains fairly sweet throughout . mild carbonation, some faint dryness in the finish. pretty drinkable. bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - OCT 28, 2008
(Draught) Pours a cloudy orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, floral, yeast, and spices. Flavor of coriander, wheat, orange peel, lemon, and black pepper. puzzl (3264) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 27, 2008
Tap at the Clybourn location. Very fruity, floral aroma, tons of esters, with a strong malt presence. Flavor is loaded with biscuity malt, way too much for the style, with a lack of spice or complexity. Kind of soupy. Uses the right ingredients, but the amounts and technique are all wrong. On tap @ the brewpub. Pours more of a orange color with a thin white head. Nose is of spices and some citrus. Pepper finish with a little bit of bitterness. Decent Saison. DSG (15237) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - OCT 18, 2008
(10/9/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Clybourn, Chicago. 6% ABV. Hazy orange-amber. Aroma of toasty malt, slightly earthy hops and some nice fruitiness. Sweetish flavor with some malt, fresh fruits and a pleasant lingering hoppy finish with citrus notes. Medium-bodied.
