Tasted on draft on 3/12/11 at Goose Island Stoutfest. Pours deep brown with a thin beige head that leaves a thin blanket of lace. The nose is cinnamon and peppercorn spices, along with orange, earth, and dark malt. The flavor is the same with the peppercorn and cinnamon coming through nicely along with orange and dark malt. The body is medium with average carbonation and an extremely long cinnamon and orange finish. drewbeerme (3921) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 18, 2011

On tap at Goose Island Stoutfest 2011. Pours a deep brown with a fading light tan head. Aroma is mostly cocoa with some light citrus and spice from the cinnamon, the roast and chocolate being at the front though. The cinnamon and citrus do come out more in the flavor, balancing pretty nicely with the cocoa, some bitter coffee and dark roastiness in the finish. Medium body and a softer carbonation. Not a bad offering, nice things going on. pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 15, 2011
Sargeant Peppercorn on tap at Goose Island Stoutfest 2011...Pours a medium opaque dark cola brown and crowned with a medium lightly fluffy off-white head... cinammon citrusy nose, enticing... Really nice citrusy cinnamon spice flavor with a mild
degree of roast. Nice and mildly interesting but the ctirus note comes
through a little bit more so in the end. I returned to this on more than one occasion due to being a lover of cinnamon and enjoyed the citrus bent to it. Body came off as a tad bit thin but i generally enjoyed the flavor profile overall.

Sampled on tap at Stoutfest 2011 (Chicago, IL). Pours a murky blackish brown pour, a touch lighter on the edges with frothy tannish head that dies to a ring, laces ok. Aromas are roasted coffee, touches of spicy cinnamon, vanilla beans and nice pepper bite. Touches of citrus, roast, and toast. Initial is lighter bodied with a bigger spiced bite, wisps of cinnamon and sharper peppercorn. Some cocoa and roast, touches of coffee, mellow vanilla, and orange citrus. Reminds me of asian cuisine, complex and lighter bodied, doesn’t way you down with a lot going on. Finish is dry and spicy, cinnamon takes hold on the aftertaste with sufficient roast, toast, mellow sweetness, touch of fruity orange, quality brew here by Goose. Some people found it cloying or unfocused, but I genuinely enjoyed this.. The spices fought with each other a bit, a dry and spicy beer with some mellow sweet vanilla beans and oranges that take it down a different bath, but lingering pepper and cinnamon always. Fairly dry even, lighter bodied.
