I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste sour, fruit, citrus. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.

Tap in a snifter at Blues Bar. Cloudy marigold color with lots of tiny bubbles streaming toward the top. This is a very full pour into the snifter so I’m not sure if a head normally exists. In this sample there’s a thin white ring literally at the top of the glass. Smells like a glass of Pinot Grigio. In fact, blindfolded I would guess wine in the glass. I get peach and nectarine more than grapefruit. The taste is slightly sweet up front from the juice followed by the familiar farmhouse funk. It finishes by leaving a sour taste in the back of your throat and a wheat malt kiss on the tip of your tongue. It’s a nice blend of sweet and tart. Maybe there’s something wrong with me, but I don’t get that much grapefruit, but that doesn’t hurt the beer. Treebs (872) - , Illinois, USA - SEP 29, 2013
Enjoyed on tap at Wild Monk. Served in a tulip.
A: Pours a clear gold color with a thick white head forming on the pour. Recedes slowly to a thick cap that leaves tons of soapy lace down the glass.
S: Huge grapefruit. on the nose. A ton of bright zest and intense flesh. The sweetness of the grapefruit is captured and it doesn’t impart any tart or acidic notes. The base is only mildly present in the nose.
T: The grapefruit is much subdued in the taste which is a slight disappointment. The base saison is much more prevalent with some light peppery notes and fruity esters. Sweet wheat notes with some light zesty grapefruit. Mild pithy bitterness.
M: Very light and crisp with a medium high carbonation. Great drinkability. Zesty sweet finish.
O: The nose was fantastic, but the taste was lacking that grapefruit pop and was not all that different from regular Sofie. Having said that I still enjoyed this beer and would gladly have it again.

On draft at Bad Apple in Chicago. Big lemon-citrus mixed with tart apple cider in the aroma. Appearance is a pale yellow with deep foam on top that disappears quickly. Taste was yeasty, sweet, tart, citrus and fruit abundant, cider-ish. It’s a good, light, sparkling white wine-oriented fruit beer. Palate was lively with carbonation but light in body. Overall, good and mouth coating with flavor. Even though this isn’t my favorite style, cheers to Goose Island for making a pale-colored and bold fruit beer. valpoaj (744) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - JUL 30, 2013
Tap pour - deep golden with almost no head upon presentation. Aroma is full of grapefruit, sour apple, spice and a hint of funkiness - some white wine-like characteristics - and good overall! Flavor is delicious - although it had been a while, I seem to feel the base Sofie coming through, but the extra layers of sour grapefruit, a vinous character, an added dryness and lots of yeast come through. Palate is good - keeps you coming back for more. Very enjoyable drink - wish I could get this one again!

It's unusual to get a fruit beer like this that is so sweet but well balanced. Tastes like candied grapefruit rinds on top of a decent base Belgian golden ale. So refreshing. The best shandy ever!

Draft at Stag’s Head. Pours almost clean gold with a thick, foamy white head. Aroma of light grapefruit rind and juice. Taste is slightly yeasty with significant notes of grapefruit w juice and grassy hops. Finishes juicy and clean. Very refreshing and drinkable. Grapefruit profile becomes more prominent as you drink it, in a good way. Good stuff. barn0216 (550) - California, USA - DEC 5, 2013
Tap at Harry’s Hofbrau. Clear golden color, no foam. Fruity saison aroma, inflected with grapefruit. Flavor is same, slightly bitter, a little Brett character. Dry. Tasty but not amazing. iabeerguy (392) - Iowa, USA - JUL 2, 2013

My recommendation: A perfect summer beer. Really would love to get my hands on a few bottles of this. Terrific brew! ESBob (379) - Indiana, USA - JUL 13, 2013
On Tap. Pours a hazy gold/yellow, ample frothy slightly off white head. Fruit and citrus aroma, light. Taste is an interesting mix of fruit and lemon zest. Nice summer beer with a good mouthfeel and slightly dry finish.
