COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels with orange peel, Sofie is a tart, dry, sparkling ale. A subtle, spicy white pepper note, a hint of citrus from the orange peel and a creamy vanilla finish make Sofie an intriguing choice for Champagne drinkers and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian Saisons.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2018 Bottle. Light straw colour, slightly cloudy. Wood and citrus flavours but for me has too much of the vinegar like taste I associate with wine or cider.

Almost clear bright golden color with a ring of white foam. Aroma has really earthy notes like wet hay, damp wood barrels, musty cellar, fruit pits. Taste is malty at first but the brett notes take over quickly. Dominant flavor is wood but there are also some spicy flavors. Medium to light body, medium carbonation, quite crisp mouthfeel. There is a light white wine flavor but mostly the brett esters and wood notes are standing out.

12 ounce bottle at home. One inch, medium thick, white head. Yellow, orange hazy in color, Medium in mouth feel Smell the Belgium yeast. You can taste the wild yeast used. Smooth, yeasty after taste. Interesting beer for the style. Cheers!

Bottle from Beery Christmas advent calendar. Pours golden yellow, light haze and measured white foam on top. Aroma has lovely farmhouse character, bit of orange, lightly fruity and tropical. Taste displays these funky yeast side notes, light, fruity and full of barnyard. Feels also quite dry, so very drinkable. Light-bodied funky saison, just the way I like them.

On tap at Dive Bar, NYC. Pours cloudy golden with medium white head. Very soft texture, light sourness, just a tad vinous, some citrus lemony note, yeast, sweetish middle. Very balanced. Medium bodied. Good.
