4/8/08, on tap at clybourn. wow this was pretty hoppy! not the more wonderful hop aroma or flavor, a bit grassy and all over the place. a nice apa.3.5.
Growler sample thanks to Stephanie. Pours a light amber color with a tall beige head. Nose is pleasant carmel with pine/citrus hops. Flavor is of carmel, toffee, biscuits, and piney citrus notes. Slight bittering in the finish. Sessionable and tasty for what it is. pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 1, 2008
draught at goose island clybourn (cask version).... poured a transparent caramel brown with a creamy banana yellow head.... not too much going on in the nose. just a bunch of floral and earthy hops..... flavor had a similar hop profile. earthy hops with very little bitterness except for a pinch of it in the fhinish. very smooth and creamy with you guessed it, low carbonation. Pours dark amber with a thin head. Nice hoppy aroma, mainly pine/citrus hops. The flavor was well balanced with some sweet caramel flavor balancing out the hops. I thought it would be a little more hoppy, but it was still well done. I need to get all my Goose Island beers in @ Clybourn while I can :( Walt (2449) - Austin, Texas, USA - APR 19, 2008
Pour is hazed opaque amber with a thin sticky tannish head...smell is grapefruit and light amounts of pine...taste is faintly sweet with caramel and a nice blend of pine and grapefruit bitterness...

Really solid Pale Ale. Nice hints of citrus, solid malt background, and overall a West Coast feel to this pale ale, without just "being hoppy". alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - MAY 20, 2008
Sample at Clybourn; distinguished itself nicely amongst a style that is fairly homogenous. Aroma was nice and hoppy with pronounced citrus/grapefruit. Flavor was well balanced with a solid hop presence. Good for the style. TomDecapolis (4636) - Milton, Delaware, USA - APR 29, 2007
Pours a lightly hazy amber with golden highlights and a smaller off white creamy lightly lacing head. Aroma of butterscotch, floral notes, caramel and some citrus. Flavor of toasted malts, some yeast, earthy, caramel corn with some lingering hop bitterness. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - MAY 27, 2007
(Tap) Pours an amber color with average head. Citrusy hops in the aroma. A faint touch of malt as well. Taste is a little more balanced, with sweet caramel and some moderate hoppiness. Decent mouthfeel and good lacing. Another good brew from Goose Island. sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAY 19, 2008
Tasted 4/30/08. Sample from Clybourne. Filtered with a ruby amber hue. Layer of off-white head. Grainy hoppy nose. Grapefruit nose. Medium bodied and nice and hoppy. Good profile. Bitter and woody. Grassy and grapefruit. Solid and very nice. Tart with mild hops. All hops in the palate.
