Sampled at FoBAB 09. Reddish pour with a light offwhite head. Get a lot of cherry, caramel malts, booze. Fruity flavor with some hops. Really, a lot of cherry. Pretty good entry.

FoBAB 2009. Poured a murky brown color with little head. Smell is almost all carmel malts. Taste is a bit too boozy, not well hidden. Carmel finish, light linger.

sampled at FOBAB 08... pours a cloud dark brown with a wispy off white head...some vinous red fruit qualities and an odd alcohol burn... sweet, boozy, cloying, cough syrupy cherry flavors. soft carbonation and a little boozy.

On tap at FoBAB. Poured deep caramelly-brown with a dusting of beige head. The aroma picked up deep vinous and caramel notes with a touch of nutmeg and cardamom.. more red grapes emerged with warmth. The flavor had warm caramel and toffee at the core with lots of spicage around (led by peppery notes and bourbon).. toasted oak left a decent footprint.. finished hot with more bourbon. Quite boozy on the palate with a grainy, oaky feel at several points.. just OK flow.

FoBAB 2008. Poured a murky brown color. The head was off white with an orange tint. Nice aroma. A little red wine, some cherry, and brown sugar. Medium bodied and delicately sweet with a warming alcohol effect. I tasted oak infused spicy malt with subdued red wine and a dash of salt. Interesting.

FoBAB 2008. Hmm, pretty gross name. I mean I like inuedos, but still, kinda too far. Anywho. Pours a red orange with a tan head. Malty nose of red fruit, oak, and brown sugar. Similar lightly sweet flavors with a lot of that fruit, that doesn’t balance well with an abundance of alcohol. Not so into this one. 7/3/6/3/12 = 3.1

Pours a very murky brown with no head. Aroma of fruit and some oak. Flavor of red fruit, a little wine. Weird.

FoBAB 2008: Muddled crimson hue with very little head nor lace. The aroma is grape and plum cake, oak, vanilla bean, toast, herbal, and minerally, WOW, if you want a fruity beer that has no fruit in it then this is your dog, Big red grape, plum and apple overtones with a tannic woody finish. Caramel and toasted malt throughout. The mouth feel is aggressive and oily, a tad thin. Weird beer than may have spent a bit too much time in the wine barrel.
